At any point of IEM Season 6 Championship, if you think of an interesting byline, please drop a sentence in the Pro Scene thread. At the end of the month, I'll catalogue the results of Hannover but also any interesting facts or events that happen over the course of the tournament. Thanks. Neo, 06.03.2012 |

If there was a champ with an ability to instantly kill an entire team once every 10 minutes, but teams still managed to lose with it in a tourny, the champ would not stop being overpowered. Correlation != Causation. Just because you don't automatically win with Shen on your team does not make him "not as good as people think." It was shown over and over again just how absurd he is. correlation doesnt equal causation sure, but when a champion loses over half his games it does tell me that something is up. and i never said he wasn't strong, i said he wasn't as strong as people thought, which I think is perfectly fair considering people were calling him broken and OP Shen is broken and horribly overpowered. I don't know why you think that the only evidence of a champion being OP is that their team automatically wins just by virtue of possessing said champ. There are some champs that are mostly OP because of solo queue dynamics that don't dominate in ranked, but Shen is a perfect example of a champion that's OP in every arena. That fact doesn't change just because lesser players or teams got a hold of him and still found ways to lose. I'm pretty sure there were also cases where Shen dominated all game but the rest of the team flopped too hard to win. He will be nerfed again, mark my words. I think riot has numbers on what's OP I have no idea what they are, but from some independent sites before the buffs, shen had iirc the second worst w/l ratio. Last was eve.

As long as Shen is viable in top lane or jungle he'll be OP. His ult lets him split push like no one else now that TF/Pantheon have ranges on their ults.
|
It seems obvious to me that they should at least limit the range of his ult to be in line with other global teleports.
|
Tbh I think shen will go the way of panth/TF and have his ult reduced to a not-so-global ult.

The only problem I see with that is that the reactive nature of his ult means the range nerf would be much more significant than it is on other characters. Like if you have to be missing to react to a gank on someone else's lane that's so much more utility than TF/Panth lost gone, because the window of opportunity is just tiny compared to an offensive global. I kind of feel like it would be better if they reduced his range but at the same time somehow remade his ult rather than just nerfing it that way. For example, perhaps instead of giving a shield it could cc people next to the target? Some change so that it isn't purely reactive.
|
I think they should leave it as is and make everyone as strong as Shen
|
Make the strength of the shield relative to your distance from the target. ...not that I want Shen to be nerfed in that way, or at all

They could keep it global, but have the channel time scale based on your distance from the target.

my elo might not be great but lately I see a lot of shen not only tanking, but also carrying (one of them being myself). I sometimes end up with smth like 8/1/16 at 20 min mark when enemy team surrenders. Of course, real 'carries' shine in lategame, but whatever, its not that important after 25 min mark.
Edit: I was wondering why no one plays or bans shaco?

Shaco is like, the first ban in every soloQ game.
Edit: If you mean in tournies, since this is the tourney thread, then it's because he is a lot worse against coordinated/prepared teams.
|
Picking Shaco in a tournament game is like saying to your opposing team "alright dudes, late game, all we can do i splitpush"
They pick a team that can 4v4 or they pick TF and your Shaco is absolutely useless.
|
Shaco wouldn't work against coordinated teams. Especially when lee sin is available.

Because he really good at pick off players who are solo.
He really good solo queue because players too bad to see the puff of orange smoke and back off. He damn good at killing stuff... but you need to kill a lot of stuff to justify being 4v5 in the lategame.

Why is it so that all VODs of LoL are available, but none for CS 1.6?

I don't think Shen is OP at all. He is strong, as with all heroes with some sort of global.
He has not much dmg (compared to other top laners/junglers) and he is reliant on landing his taunt in teamfights in late game. He is a strong hero and pretty much over the past years, developers have been trying to fix weaker heroes to make more heroes playable in a tournament setting. (dota/hon/lol etc)
Anyways why would Riot care what I think. I'm just a scrub and I hope they only ever balance the game at the highest level of play.
|
I think his ult raneg should be nerfed, 'cause it's absolutely OP to ba able to go from the top-left corner of the map to the bottom-right in a matter of seconds. But they should keep it long enough so that you don't have to mia to go to the nearest lane (like with TF or panth).

Shen top, TF mid, TF ults, shen ults TF, range restriction broken.

An idiot teammate runs 1v2 to die? Np, just ulti him and get a double kill.
Noob teammate doesn't look at the ward and gets dived by 3? Np, ulti him and triple kill

Just watched the (low quality -_-) VoDs and was very impressed by m5, but dignitas just rolled over and died tbh. Also great OP so props JBright.

What does the 'I carried today big' shirt refer to?
