At any point of IEM Season 6 Championship, if you think of an interesting byline, please drop a sentence in the Pro Scene thread. At the end of the month, I'll catalogue the results of Hannover but also any interesting facts or events that happen over the course of the tournament. Thanks. Neo, 06.03.2012 |
nice spreadsheet. guess shen not as strong as people thought. in other news, janna replaces sona as queen of supports.
interesting to note that TSM's most picked champion is Irelia and they never won with her -.- WHY TRM WHY U KEEP PICK IRELIA :O.

TRM is probably looking at Wickd and thinks he can do it too.
His Teemo is good, his Tryn is good, he has plenty of champions to pick from but he shouldn't pick Irelia.

Correlation != Causation.
Just because you don't automatically win with Shen on your team does not make him "not as good as people think." It was shown over and over again just how absurd he is.

I don't know much about League competitively. Are there any champs that are flat out banned from competitive play?

Bans have mostly been targeted at teams so I don't think there are any universal bans. And there are patches every 2-3 weeks so a lot of the "OP" champs fall out of favour pretty quickly.
Also, all the VODs should be up in the OP.

all this flaming and fanboyism aside, i'm glad M5 won. it gives every other team a "goal" to strive for. i don't think there's been any team in recent LoL history that has dominated as much as M5 has (especially during the finals). competition is always good. now we wait for every other team to step up their game.

Who are they? they tend to change from patch to patch and nowadays people usually target bans considering how each team only gets 3 bans. the top ban atm is shen. ryze/cassio get banned a lot too, but usually only in competitive play. In terms of solo queue, rammus/shaco are also almost always banned.

Wow, just watched the finals games, m5 absolutely crushed dignitas. I am glad m5 won though, as much as I love scarra, i always feel the best team should always win. LoL isn't a game where the best team always wins, yet, because people still need to become much more polished and disciplined as players, but this tourney m5 crushed.
Now if only people could actually vote for the mvps of the event instead of mindlessly voting for players they like.

It's just a flaw with the IEM voting system - the voting ended before the start of the finals so they can get everything ready for the awards ceremony. Voyboy had an amazing semifinals against aAa whereas M5 won, but not in a flashy fashion (CLG lost more so than M5 won). It's easier to remember the performance of a single player compared to the performance of a team.

I also think a lot of people have a thing against m5 because they end up crushing every team that the fans usually cheer for.
Like for example, someone might be a clg fan, then clg gets eliminated by m5, so in that person's mind they sorta hate m5.

The M5 BM incident against Mono also wasn't that long ago. And yeah, most people don't like to see their team getting taken out. I was cheering for CLG and was disappointed that they couldn't take on M5.

I don't know why you think that the only evidence of a champion being OP is that their team automatically wins just by virtue of possessing said champ. There are some champs that are mostly OP because of solo queue dynamics that don't dominate in ranked, but Shen is a perfect example of a champion that's OP in every arena. That fact doesn't change just because lesser players or teams got a hold of him and still found ways to lose. I'm pretty sure there were also cases where Shen dominated all game but the rest of the team flopped too hard to win.
He will be nerfed again, mark my words.

I find Lee Sin to have dominated (i.e champ is key source for making plays in game) much more then Shen this tournament though its true Shen was banned most of the time.
Is Lee Sin considered broken and horribly overpowered ?

Probably Monday for TSM
CLG is flying straight to Korea so don't expect them to streaming at their usual times anymore
