Wx for finals, but Misaya 100% for the games leading up to the finals. Extremely solid AP play all around with absolutely terrifying play on Twisted Fate and Karthus.

They looked like they didnt know what to do when all 5 chased hotshot thru the base. Hotshot had the right idea there pulling them to botlane thru their own base. But CLG just pushed mid and blue and didnt baron it up.

Only saintvicious was dominant over his WE counterpart. HSGG won a couple lanes due to good counter-picking, but CLG lost the finals because their teamfighting was worse than WE's.

CLG - Zilean, Kog'Maw, Janna, Udyr, Jax Clg won cause they had far better superior comp. fidle ezreal become weak as the game progress and can be countered easy. Alistar needs 45+ mins to be somewhat strong and can be dodged easily not to mention his ulti is useless for the team Karthus cant save them alone. WE - GP, Taric, Vayne, Annie, Singed CLG - Orianna, Caitlyn, Warwick, Sona, Kennen on the other hand clg got outpicked here. Vayne>>>caytlyn as the game progress , WW is a joke , kennen becomes rly weak at the end since he has awfull ap ratios and sona in general is useless past 20mins mark since her buffs are a joke at the end. Pre nerf taric ( i consider hes new ulti a huge nerf to his tnakiness ) was the best supp by a long margin , ge is uber and everything else apart orianna was a better pic WE - GP, Orianna, Taric, Vayne, Singed CLG - Galio, Janna, Ezreal, Cassiopeia, Lee Sin Ezreal doesnt allow mistakes ( which u can made as ezreal) and is the worst late game carry. Overall they got outplayed in this game since the pics were more or less equall Overall excellent tournament from gameplay perspective. My opinion is that lol terms of pro gaming quality and professionalism is years behind sc2 , cs or even wow ( at his prime) if more and more asian teams get interested it will become much better imo

Sorta random throwaway opinion there at the end with very little context. The only major "limitation" on the competitive scene I see in LoL is that there there aren't enough reasons to make a team for ranked 5v5 when people could just solo-queue. That leads to a stagnation and lack of teams at the top. Definitely don't see how it's behind WoW, though. CS and SC have been out forever, so no surprise more established games have more established competitive scenes. Even if SC2 is only a year old, SC infrastructure is 13 years old, which SC2 piggy-backed on top of.

Assuming both teams are equally matched, you had about a 25% chance of being right. Not exactly a crazy probability. Haha.

I was able to watch pretty much all of the games, and despite the shaky start (due to technical difficulties they really should be on top of), it was a great tournament. The Asian style is just really fun to watch. It's not necessarily better, as many of this forums posters have pointed out, a team playing safe should be fine. However, it can really snowball, and there's something psychologically intimidating about dying all the time instead of being slowly squeezed out. I watched the final game with my girlfriend, and while she doesn't play, she was able to get behind her country in a way similar to regular sports: “Go China!” “Hit the Americans” “Quickly run!”. She also dubbed hotshotgg ‘xiaojiji’, as saying gg out loud (as the commentators do) sounds like a Chinese word for penis. Xiao is small. Her random picking on him turned out to be strangely apt with his weird play at the end, which ended any hope of a CLG comeback in sad style. That said, I loved watching his Jax play. One thing I didn’t understand in the last game, was how Vayne never got killed in team fights. Was it just perfect positioning/timing? A couple of times she was right at the front as it kicked off, but survived the whole time. Also, throughout the semi-finals and finals games, there were these great 2-4 man jungle invades, in the early/mid game. They seem very strong, as you not only get the buff, but get can catch unlucky junglers. I guess it does cost quite a bit of experience and gold though. Is this kind of play common in high level games? (low level question). I never see them in my games. I liked TL’s presence in the commentators lives ![]() Overall I thought the commentary was good, and I liked how it was new-player friendly – I think that’s important to help the game grow. Having Elementz on board was also wonderful – so many little nuggets of insight. Probably the best thing about the commentary from both Daniel and Joe was their huge enthusiasm for the game. You could tell they loved it, and were just as excited as we were. Throughout the tourney, listening to them made the games even more exciting and enjoyable. If I was to make a criticism, I would say the camera work occasionally sucked. I’d see a fight break out on the minimap, desperately want to look, then see a kill had happened while we were watching farming or stats. Overall though, great tournament. Oh, and if you guys have that translation of Chinese runes, it would be great. PS: On my Chinese account all but the most recent 5 champs are free-to-play right now. Celebration or coincidence?
