Most of the problem lies within having the game made on Adobe Air.
When asked about making it in a more robust source, they answered with a question: "would you like it to stop all current progress made in the game (in the form of new champions/skins/patches) so we could make the game form scratch?". imo, make a real stable version and go remaking the game.

I just love how riot is deleting every thread about this and not giving a real announcement about that whole problem/solution. Real professional :|

i don't understand, wtf happened to that tournament, I really want to watch some games. were any games actually played or is everything on hold?
|
No games were played. Both group A and B will be played tomorrow
Assuming Riot finaly gets there shit sorted.
|
Everything's on hold. Matt Marcou managed to fuck up a tournament so badly - again - that the games are not only unstreamable, but also unplayable. The shit that's broken is so simple that even attempting to play a single game with the computers involved would have told them there were problems.
|
thanks for the information, guys. I assume the games will start are scheduled to start same time tomorrow?
|
you are far too optimistic if you think they're gonna be on schedule tomorrow either, most likely won't get streamed at all. I know I won't lose another night's sleep for this.
As for the question would I mind if they stopped making skins champs etc to remake the game into proper code, NO, I would not mind a single bit. Infact I think they push out champs out too fast anyway and it's been showing in the quality in the last 5...

haha, Riot celebrating Chinese human rights by deleting everything that mentions IEM China in a negative way, the official thread started by zenon was moderated so much that the last post after an afternoon of discussion is now 7 hrs ago, the thread suddenly at forum page 7, i almost thought they just deleted it.
If you fail so much riot, maybe be less angry at people critizising you and instead do a little bit more of firing marcou.
oh also, as if skin and champion designers do a workshop for a week and then help programming a core engine.

I'm a big fan of LoL and have always wanted it to destroy DOTA and HON. I think it can be a good competitive game but in its current state. Fuck Riot, I'm glad they are able to bust out a new champ every two weeks for 10 bucks a pop plus new skins but you can't even have your game have the most basic components. If you are advertising that you are going to make a big splash into the ESPORTS scene, make sure the game works.
Every time this happens I'm slowly starting to root for DOTA 2, just lay off some of the champ makers and hire on a few more coders to make this damn game work. fuck.
If this came off a bit ranty sorry.

lolololol The DotA and HoN guys must be celebrating...for good reasons as well.

Well if it makes anyone feel better, the spectator client (the actual one, not the fake 6v6 one) performed flawlessly for WellPlayed.org's Rampage tournament today.

Money isn't the bottleneck, it's competent manpower.

So T-1:45.
Now taking bets on delay to start the day, the number of times it takes them to start the first match, and the total number of dcs over the course of the day.
Whoever is closest wins 1 million esports bucks.

What do you think the odds are that this actually works today?
