hmmm... i already dled the 4gb update on na but then when i try to login to asia server it is dling the 4gb update again -_- doesn't the game use the same assets on all regions?
I did buy HotS but never really got into it but especially now that I got annoyed at some of valves decisions with DotA 2 I'm quite hyped for this again. Watching that SoS vs Life serie did market this nicely for me, even though it was HotS.
Ordered a key and hopefully got it waiting for me once I get home. In any case I want to at least see the conclusion to campaign and the prices for Blizzard games don't really drop so may as well get it right away.
Downside is that I'l probably be like Bronze now. after a few years..
This is my first time playing since 3.0; the whole game looks pretty bright and washed out. Since i've seen the problem before it was pretty easy to identify that they're no longer using 0-255 color for most of the screen, it looks like 16-235 color or something similar
here is a pic:
you can see that this doesn't affect the minimap, it's dark as expected. It does affect the main cinematic, the cutscenes and gameplay, though.
I guess this is a PSA since i doubt anyone knows how to fix it, but if there's a fix please throw me a PM
I played a bit when EU went live yesterday. Was my first time playing 3.0 and I love it. I noticed the washed out colors as well but I fixed it with my monitor settings.

Time to get into masters asap!
Many of the 144hz monitors (mine included) are already washed out in the dark color ranges, calibrated well or not. It makes those color problems way more obvious and painful
the co op mode is pretty fun, the missions are a bit too short imo and needs some polishing on the end screen rather than just a victory screen. very interesting though, definitly can see myself sinking some time there when I don't want to go all serious on multi player
between Legacy of the Void and Fallout 4 release internet forums will be a ghost town for a few hours until every body starts sharing their hype or outrage ^^

Would be a good idea to post OS and system specs, maybe someone on this thread had a similar issue that they fixed?

WTF - I just had the 4.5GB thing, not 17 GB. :O
I dled the whole thing again. But it failed. Now I have to leave the pc on all night long -_-
The color washing out thing is actually quite bad. I thought it was so that black was represented by 16,16,16 instead of 0,0,0 but this particular scene looked awful and when i checked, the black (in both the UI and the background) is 23,27,36.
Here's the difference between the two colors:
The minimap is again working fine with 0,0,0 black so i'm pretty sure it's just an engine thing they did in 3.0 or LOTV
If you are wondering why everything is super bright and awful colors, this is why.

Hey Cyro, any workarounds for this? I'm getting mad too

None that i found, just yell at blizzard and make reddit threads complaining about everything being washed out, grey and bright
^My gut says 'no'. Integrated graphics, weak cpu (SC2 is cpu intensive)
The CPU would be fine (slow compared to good stuff, still usable) but it's the integrated graphics on ultra-low-power CPU which is the big no-no. There is a 15w combined power limit - the CPU itself will need ~10w to work and that leaves only 5w for the integrated graphics. That's not nearly enough power for playing a game, so it's very likely that the graphics would throttle a lot (from 1000mhz most or all of the way down to the 200mhz base clock)
Integrated graphics are much better than they were 5 years ago and happily capable of playing sc2 - but probably not those integrated graphics
