Arcade could be cool. Them thinking about multiplayer content is interesting, but I really hope it is not more units, but massive balance updates ala DotA to reroll the metagame and bring in more and more strategic opportunities. This point sounds very vague and a bit like "if enough people play so that supporting it pays off for us". Don't care about anything else. I guess I'm somewhat negative towards the skin crap if I cannot deactivate it.

But the post-Blizzcon patch in 2013 was one of the worst patches along with the queen patch so it's one of those things they just have to get right or else.

I'm all for large patches with micro-scale changes to everything. But alternatively if they go forward new units, I hope they do some rotation and do not stockpile even more units on top. Because I think we are past the point where more units means more options, and rather more (viable) units means more things to consider in your build order and therefore more streamlining. Like, say they get the game somewhat stable. Then you take that as a starting point for, say, rotating the ghost out for the spectre. And you do that every year and maybe eventually come back to the first build and so on and so on.

A yearly cycle of big design changes after WCS ends while having balance fixes throughout the year, is ideal.

That's kinda like the doubt I always have. Can LOTV stand the test of time like BW if they no longer take out or add units if it just isn't working out. If they're willing to do that as a last resort or whatever, I have high hopes.

I hope they don't handcuff themselves to "BW did it" with the meta. Yes BW managed to keep a fresh meta without changing anything but maps. Thats great. BW was also a masterpiece and maybe you can't catch that lightning in a bottle a second time. If Blizzard needs to take a heavier hand in shifting the meta via patches I'm fine with that. Just because it isn't something BW didn't do doesn't mean it isn't the right response for SC2.

I honestly don't know why it is so technically difficult to have a game just stream the replay to a server and have spectators be 10-15s behind. They already have the join-from-replay functionality built in to Heroes of the Storm so the ability to jump into a game via replay is there already.

Because when Ladder is your #1 source of practice, spectating pro gamers becomes an invaluable source of information. Once someone smurf is revealed suddenly you've just learned a lot about them. You can't simultaneously have game spectating and ladder as your main source of practice. There was a point early in SC2 development when all GM replays were going to be saved so that they could be viewed by others later. That did not get a good response from people for the reasons I cited.

That way, people who are good on ladder (or streamers), can allow others to spectate as a way to boost their popularity and build a fan base. Pros on the other hand, can turn off this feature to hide their play style or replays. Have it default to auto-off and anyone who wants to turn it on can do so. I don't see why this would be a bad thing tbh.

I'm pretty sure it's not. People have been asking for this feature since before SC2 was launch. It's the top unimplemented feature. 5 years later, zero progress. The engine is not capable of it, because the game is saved as a sequence of instructions rather than as the current state. At best, they'll use some hacky work-around, like resume from replay.

I'm so glad stuff like this is starting to happen, though I think it's at least 2 years too late.
