So much more "coming soon" is pretty frustrating, I feel like most of these should have been ready for the ship date. The best-case scenario is that they make the game F2P 8-12 months from now on and finance the game through F2P-microtraansactions. I think that's way too late for F2P too have a noticeable impact on the playerbase and the learning curve is also way too high for the game. F2P games generally makes more sense to games with a low learning curve since it requires a great deal of commitment.

True, but what you are missing is that there is now confirmation that there will be future development on the sc2 client. I find that exciting in itself. It might not work out but I like that blizzard is committed to try.

Given that they provide so little information and developing a proper system is very expensive, I think they are just going for the "gimmick"-approach here. Pretty sure we're still talking about Blizzard here, which has released a game with full-blown skin support in the SC2 Engine. It's funnily enough even called "HotS" for short. ![]() But seriously: Skins themselves are a gimmick. What do you expect them to do? If you can buy skins and slap them on your units/buildings, thats enough. Give updated skins regularly. Done.

The goals for the ladder revamp is just repeating what they already said earlier this year, nothing new. And without details on how they'll specifically do it, there's nothing to really comment on.

They should, but can't, make multiplayer F2P until they fix their game engine to prevent maphacks.

Think of all the smurfs that would destroy any fun that is there in the lower leagues by crushing every sincere bronze/silver/gold player. No, keep f2p as far away from multi as possible, for that you have the arcade.

I really don't think smurfs are the issue compared to hacking.

And how can we be sure the skins and voice packs will be a success given how many skins they've made for the units/buildings already.. which is next to nothing, in comparison with other games

Is it just for internal matchmaking, or will there be displayed ranked per race determined by the race-specific MMR?

I haven't seen threads about hacking being back on either Reddit, TL or the official B.Net forums, so if you have a source that it is back I'd be happy if you can share it. But imo hacks never have been as big as a problem as people made it out to be. I think in al my time playing StarCraft 2 I have faced obvious hackers maybe 5 times if not less. Sure, there are sometimes situations which feel like the opponent was hacking, but often it was more likely a lucky situation where he blind-countered my build/moves. In the end I have been accused of hacking more then I have faced a hacker in my experience. Also, having the ladder being F2P also makes banning hackers less effective. More will be discussed at the Multiplayer panel later during BlizzCon.

"buy blizzard points to increase supply limit!!" tbh, I don't want sc2 to become some freemium game. There's already heartstone and HotS for that.
