Sugoi This is good, 3sUP way better than Overclockers, but these qualifiers are getting really silly when teams/players eliminated earlier in the tournament can just buy their way back in -_- On the one hand, Riot's qualifier system is stupid anyway so I'm glad to see teams like 3sUP get another chance, but the whole thing is dumb and marginalizes the qualifier if you can just do that. It's kind of pointless having a qualifying system that people can just go around by buying slot. I don't get how riot is so awful at making systems. Valve's major system has issues of disparity between regions but in general it's a pretty fair system within the region. How is it so hard to make something not dumb Just because you disagree with something doesn't make it dumb. How would you handle the purchase and sale of teams, then? Would you forbid it, forcing teams like Velocity, compLexity and Coast to suffocate in the LCS and fall right back down right after making it in because they just don't have what it takes to compete in it? Would you force wealthy investors who want to create an esports franchise to ask top talent to come to a challenger team in the hopes that they'll make it into the LCS in 6 months' time?
Look at most any sport, and sports teams (and their slots) are available for sale. For far more money than a LoL LCS spot, to be sure, but the principle is the same. The Challenger scene process for making it into the LCS may look like a joke right now, but that's because outside players coming in to build a franchise started happening all of a sudden just now- this isn't something that will happen every off-season. Besides, if the venture capitalists behind Immortals are right and buying an LCS team for a million dollars is a good business decision because they're worth more than that, then the price of an LCS team will go up and the pool of people who can comfortably afford one will shrink pretty fast, which will make the Challenger Scene start looking like the smart way to get in.
Me, I think Riot's pretty smart, and they generally make good decisions, if not always the best ones. I also think people on this forum severely underestimate a company that has become so successful so quickly.

It's one thing to allow an independent org to buy a spot. It's another to allow orgs and players who were previously eliminated to buy back in. This isn't Immortals buying Team 8's spot, it's more like Team 8 buying CLG's playoff spot even though they went 6-12 or something.
I'm don't completely disagree with buying/selling spots, but I do think qualifier results should have some sort of meaning and that orgs/players shouldn't be able to buy back in after failing.
EDIT: Speaking of brackets, EUCS bracket is out, courtesy of: http://www.millenium.org/lol/accueil/actualites/challenger-series-eu-saison-6-league-of-legends-competition-cs-eu-na-riot-games-lol-137603

Huma gets like the easiest possible bracket (assuming they beat EUNE #2 because they should). This qualifier format is officially shit, in both EU and NA, the teams that lost in the open qualifier get the easier path compared to the winners.

So 3sUP hadn't acquired the Overclockers UK's spot or what.
Hopefully Tabzz and crew can beat up Millenium but I don't have high hopes. And also rofl, can Creaton's Polestack beat Huma please, will be the top meme.

The scheduled patch for games this week might have been changed.
The teams were given lots of notice at least.

Dade joined QG but as a sub.

Dunno if Dade would be a good replacement for DoinB, hes looked pretty inconsistent on M3 but maybe he'll find his spring Dade passion in QG

Mor has gone from being the fourth best player on the 3rd best team from NA to playing with V/Swift/Dade/Uzi. The death of LomoQ is the best thing to ever happen to Mor

Ain't nothing wrong with getting carried as long as you aren't too heavy

Allowing a team that lost in the qualifier to buy a spot back into the event the qualifier was for is absolutely ludicrous. It invalidates the point of the qualifier. Look at most any sport, they won't allow that shit. I feel like you either didn't get the context of the post or just didn't care and wanted to go on some big rant.
I mean this is coming off them making giving slots to national leagues that aren't competitive at all after years of screwing over EUW by giving so many slots to EUNE. Then you have DDOS basically determining who goes through qualification. I don't really get how someone could say Riots handling of the challenger scene has anything other than infuriatingly shit.

Wait, this is about a specific event? My bad then, I thought the context was for one of the LoL leagues like LCS or LCK.

This was about 3sUP buying Overclockers slot although as of now we aren't certain if it happened or not. Then it's just me ranting about the overall qualifier system they have in place for CS. Nothing to do with LCS/LCK.

Overclockers is an awful company so I don't really care.
Actually maybe them wasting money on esports would have been better...
Dunno what this is, new tournament?
