.7 AP every third auto attack(or SPELL!) Plus up to 230 bonus damage .8 AP on his Q .8 AP shield on his W (150 HP at rank fucking 1!) 5+2.2% missing health per 100 AP on auto attacks against champions w/30% HP or less! At rank 1! 2.25 second stun on his W at rank 1! .2 AP bonus damage on his E, thank god this is actually low But holy god, his ult, 1.3 AP ratio, good heal plus a % of damage he took in the last 4 seconds. His Q,E attack does 1.7 AP if you get the proc off.

As for Ekko, he looks like he's gonna be AP Riven. Insane mobility, a high damage ult (Riven's due to execute, Ekko's due to insane AP ratio), and lots of combo/outplay potential. I also feel bad for whomever had to read the skills and stuff for the Ekko spotlight video. You can tell that Phreak is the one who wrote it, and could hear him cringe every time he made a pun. Edit: so the video was made while Phreak was doing MSI stuff, so they had Riot Scarizard for the audio.

if like 30 picks are constantly picked banned and only a few sneak in every bo5 then i think theres a clear balance problem its not like its obvious people like thresh and gnar kalista reksai probably gragas have way too much in their kit for anyone else who also isnt broken to compete

His W is a bit dumb because it goes up really really fast once someone is low. The damage on the ult is a bit dumb too. I mean the ratio totally is, but the fact that he has damage tacked on what could be made much more powerful without it, or doesn't need it outright (see Azir's ult zzz) is kinda lame. Depending on how his playstyle with Q turns out (hard to hit or not), and how squishy he is (if you're able to punish him hard for going at you to trigger his passive), I wouldn't mind the basic idea behind his assassin patterns though. It's pretty much how I fancy a different assassin design whenever I get bored: someone with high sustained damage output, but no burst (neither frontloaded or backloaded). He'd have to stick to his target to kill it, and expose himself, but also give opportunities to evade him or stall till you get help. To make up for it he'd need stickiness and higher damage under some conditions to make up for the lack of burst. Having a %missing HP (or a flat %increase scaling with target's health%, like Volibear's Bite) mechanic is an easy way to have that, and you can tie it to a long cooldown and/or a conditional trigger (here it's the sub-30% HP). Makes you try to whittle down your target or stay on them longer than 2 seconds when you go in, so you can at some point benefit from the steroid and do the assassin part by finishing off the target. It's also easy to tie that to single-target damage so you don't end up with someone like Talon or Zed who get incidental triples when they're fed and jump someone surrounded. You've got at least 3 mechanics covered here (stickiness/mobility, steroid, some kind of poke) so you're free to play around with the rest of the "slots" available to find cool stuff or synergistic mechanics for your concept's themes or playstyle. Ekko is a massive fail on his because the only thing feeling related to time is his ult (which is a nuke/escape more than a real time mechanic, meh) and maybe his W's field. So much cool stuff they could have done, and then... that. Also it appears they haven't changed his particle so expect massive clusterfuck between Q, W, R, and R's trail.

He's also one of the most interesting champion designs from Riot ever. The amount of plays you can make with the synergy between your abilities means people who can process things quickly will be able to use him to a higher extent than most - just like how League should be. Still, you compare his kit to someone like Garen's (sorry Teut) and just wonder how many cool champions have to be released before nobody plays those that are more... linear.

IWCI had 45 iirc but had more games, 32 vs 28.

Example: Leblanc, Fizz, Ekko, Yasuo, etc. It's terrible champ design because it's so at odds with how earlier champs functioned, so as Zdra said, eventually no one is going to play old champs unless they like losing. I mean it's already true to a large extent.

I also feel like top lane is SUPER boring. Even more-so than in previous metas where top boiled down to a handful of champions (ie., s3 Renekton vs. Jax vs. Mundo). Compared to the other positions right now, top lane is probably the worst position to play from a "fun" standpoint. Cinderhulk's allowed Smite/TP top to exist, and we just saw how strong it is in game 3 of CJ vs. KT in LCK/OGN last night. Before Cinderhulk it was nothing but Maokai, Gnar, and Rumble, with maybe a Flash/TP Lissandra or Lulu in the top for a Juggermaw or double AP comp. Now those two mages are replaced by Hecarim and Shyvana because the meta rewards you for playing those champions. Riot needs to buff some of the top laners to introduce a bit more risk in the scene and see if a top laner can carry or be a damage threat once again, instead of it just being the mid and ADC's job to deal damage, and for top/jungle/support to be the front line/engage. I also think Warrior enchant in jungle needs to get some of its nerfs reverted, but that's just my jungler side talking. I'll be fine rocking the Cinderhulk Vi + BC combo, wrecking faces, doing more damage, sticking to people more and being tankier than I was back when Vi was actually in the meta.
