The intention is probably to take away some free mana regen from champions who can't afford to go down into utility, give a slight buff to supports, and maybe encourage some AP champions to split their focus between Offense and Utility. But 1.5% missing mana per 5, while stronger than 3mp5 in most circumstances, is not all that amazing if it's the primary reason you're going 12 points into utility.

That is a big change. 75 Mana is more than 6% max mana until you have 1250 mana and .5% missing mana/5 seconds is 1 MP/5 per 200 missing mana. So if you're Irelia you break even at level 1 and you're twice as far ahead once you have sheen and/or a few levels

Basically I'm almost 100% sure I should start boots+pots instead of Doran's for obvious reasons. I wonder what item I should get after first buy though. Phage for some hp and easier dodging while csing? Sorcs so that rockets actually deal damage and ultimate bomb dodging? Or just sheen so that I can get lane dominance by all-in trades/threathening all-in trades? Any ideas? Could try flask start, or a flask in first back?

3 MP5 beats 75 mana after 125 seconds. You're almost always in lane longer than that. And since an AP damage dealer can't justify sacrificing 3% bonus damage to go for the missing mana mastery, its just a nerf. Perhaps a buff to mana hungry supports though? I know on Lux it'd do a lot to push her towards 21/9 every game. Speaking of Lux, star guardian lux is Riots cruel joke at me since I can't play now. I hates them precious.

In other game-related news/questions, has anyone else tried going Cinderhulk + new BC into full tank on Vi? I've been messing around with it in some random games with friends and it seems pretty strong once you get over the whole build up into BC. You get a bit of AD, even more sticking power with the Phage passive, and something like 2600 HP once the BC is completed. Granted you are just a walking meatshield with no real stats just yet, but I've been sitting on like 3.5k once I get Randuins and 4k once I get a BV.

That's funny because Ashe was always strong outside of her weak laneing phase (with the exception of lvl 1) which is way better now in her current state. Also player who played her on a regular basis had to cope with her mana issues since her frostshot burned so much of it and sometimes felt forced to stack a tear. With her new kit her mana is much more manageable. I wonder if she is gonna be picked up by good teams now. Thinking of her lane matchups against current top picks: She generally does well vs ranged supports but is risky vs hard engage ones like alistar or naut. Sivir probably has an edge on her because of her superiour waveclear and her spellshield works well vs R and W, her ult is similarly useful. Jinx is an equal matchup I think, she is gonna do more damage with her machine gun but Ashe has the easier harass tools and Jinx does not have tools to dodge Arrows. Urgot is hard to assess for me in general. Havent seen one really perform well or dominant enough to really despite being picked often. Lucian and Graves can eat some shots from her superiour range but both still outtrade her in 1on1 situations. I think these are matchups which are more dependand on the supports and how both sides engage/disengage and if Ashe has enough opportunities to poke them while dodgeing attacks.

In other words, mobility creep on everything else has led everyone to be bad about their positioning during teamfights and are punished much more easily on a champion like Ashe throughout the mid-late game.
