Didn't see you'd made a similar post, wasn't trying to copy you. Also, to not make this post a a complete throwaway: what is an AP mid's best way of cutting through a strong tank line? Like if I'm Lissandra mid and I'm trying to poke down a top Sion and jungle Sejuani, what items would I get? I assume Morellos (maybe even built it from laning phase), do I just need to go with as much AP and magic pen. afterwards? | ||

I think people need to open up their mind to the possibility of buying Liandry's more against beefier lineups. It's like when I hear ADs complain about tanks but they either a) aren' playing ADs good against tanks of b) aren't buying BotRK. | ||

I don't think Morello's is an item you would build specifically to kill a tank, though it's probably fine if its part of your kit. Maybe pick up Sorc boots a little earlier to cut through MR, I would probably not recommend Void as a second item. I think the most important thing is to keep enough mana for a full rotation + a couple more spells if a fight breaks out. I guess what might be best is to build cooldown if you have some form of CC so you can spam more. If you can lock down a tank in a bad place your team can pile some damage on him, though hopefully they won't blow too many cooldowns. | ||

Personally I think most ADCs find it difficult to build BotRK as their first/only lifesteal item because BT's overshield and its insanely high LS passive is what helps them stay alive against a tank that has a Thornmail (in my experience, BT basically counteracts Thornmail, where-as BotRK doesn't let you gain back enough health for every AA you land). I also think it's hard to justify building a Liandrys on most mages because the build path is so terrible, and while it's probably decently efficient stat-wise, it is such a bad item to spend nearly 3k gold on for the passive when you could spend almost that much and see a much larger increase in damage (by buying Rabadon/Zhonyas/Ludens). Let's look at the stats on it: 300 HP = 800 gold (literally 2 Ruby Crystals) 50 AP = 1087.5 gold (assuming 10 AP = 217.5 AP, which is half of what an Amp. Tome gives) +15 Magic Pen = 775 gold (same cost as Sorcerer Shoes upgrade on your boots) In terms of raw stats, the item is worth 2662 gold before the burn passive. To get the most out of the item you want to either have Rylei's or have skills that slow/snare a foe in some fashion. On certain champs (like Lissandra, LB, Swain) it works well, as they have built-in slow/snare in their kit. On others you need to buy Ryleis to get the most out of it, and that's another 3k spent on a rather weak AP item (when most mages buy it for tankiness and the slow because their kits don't have a slow to begin with). | ||

That may be what it does well in, due to the flat pen instead of % on it, but it was clearly designed for dealing with tanks. To actually put some content in this post, what is the meta for mid lane? I think I have a good handle for the top lane meta (I think) but I don't know who is played mid. Is there a site that has that sort of information there? I always feel bad asking you guys because I feel like this is something I should just be able to search up. | ||

I've regularly played games in high silver and low gold with my irl friends and never really have an issue. My problem is that I just don't play the game enough. Last season I had somewhere around 250 games, which resulted in less than a ranked game a day. It's hard to improve, even if you know what you're doing wrong when you don't spend enough time actually working on your issues. | ||

Feel like that's most of what I remember being played over and over in LCS. And you can never go wrong with Ahri, Zed, LB, Ori. Or play Azir if you have time to practice a very specific set of mechanics. | ||
