Hello I am Peter, head coach of Team Liquid's LCS League of Legends team! Today we are happy to announce that Team Liquid will now also have an Academy team. The team have a known face for a lot of you in form of KeithMcBrief who used to play for LoLPro.
We have brought in three experienced players - Zig, Keith, and Ennui - and have also brought in new blood, with Beibei and Jojo. Beibei, our Jungler, always surprises with his picks and has great mechanics. Jojo is a new Challenger player in NA, and has a wide champion pool, which will help us fight in the NACS. Keith will be switching from Support to AD, where we believe he will be stronger. These two exciting new talents with the three veteran players will bring a lot of potential to the team, and will keep us competitive.
We have hired former NACS coach Leara as our assistant coach. I am confident that he, along with the rest of our Liquid coach and analyst staff, will help Liquid Academy improve and make sure that we can match LCS teams.
Outside of TL Academy, we are also glad to be able to say that Nyjacky has joined Team Liquid as a sub for our LCS team and Academy team. You will be seeing a lot more from him on his stream and YouTube channel going forward.

New sub for LCS team and TL Academy Nyjacky
I feel privileged to be able to work with Steve (LiQuiD112) again this time around because I know that he treats his players with utmost care and is like a father to them. Now that I am back on my original role, I'll be able to do what I couldn't before as a support. As an inexperienced support, I held my team back and was the weakest link. Being back on the marksman role will mean that I'll have a better feel coming into games because it is what I am best at. I feel ecstatic to be able to work with Team Liquid and this new roster. I believe that with perseverance and discipline we will be able to make it to the top.

Wow, this is really something I didn't expect. Typically I'm fairly familiar with the NA challenger scene but a couple of these names are a total mystery. Liquid has a reputation for excellent talent scouting though, so I can't wait to see what happens to this team in 6 months/a year

The prophet says that they will burn like the rest of them. Who knows though, this seems like a pretty good line up.

i feel like steve did most of the scouting here but either way look at crs academy they made it iin so i have high hopes for these guys
Interesting Ennui is cackgod (formerly of Enemy). Keith is a good pick up, hes always been highly regarded for his AD play. Not sure how to feel about the other players but if they get any support they could be a serious contender in the challenger scene.
I'm really glad we get to see Cackgod play mid again. Mid and ADC are like the most saturated role in NA and Cackgod can play most positions well so he always wound up in jungle or top, but I think he has the potential to be a really good mid.
I remember Peter was asking Saint on stream about what junglers in challenger he thought were good to pick up for the new academy team. He looked through the list and was like "Nobody." Will be interested to see how Beibei does.

I hear pretty good things about keith, but unsure how good the rest of the members are. Are there any challenger series stuff upcoming for NA that we can watch?

Not sure if we get it week one but Challenger stuff is getting it's own day this season, Wednesdays I believe.

I dont think this 5 man roster will last very long.
At least one LCS team is likely to have some sort of issue with their adc this split. And if I was trying to replace an LCS adc in the mid season I would call Keithmcbrief before anyone else.
Exciting team. Not sure if they will be a top 3 challenger side considering the raw talent on a few of the newer teams, but they should be up there and at least competitive with any team.
Hopefully it goes well, keen to see THE YUNG KEITH in the LCS.

Agreed, I miss seeing NyJacky in the scene. Glad to see he's with a great organization like Team Liquid now. Curse was wonderful too, but TL edges them out by 'just that much'.

Considering all the problems and fines surrounding poaching that occurred last season I wouldn't be surprised.

Keith and Stixxay both allegedly got offers in the off-season from LMQ/TiP but were passed over because neither wanted to drop out of high school and move to a teamhouse. Unless teams want to fly them out every week like Dig for GoldenGlue or EG for Altec, I'm actually not so sure.
Oh man Nyjacky, now that's a blast from the past! This dude's stream is what brought me to try LoL and got me cheering for Crs, I'm stoked to see him back!
I just hope he's no longer stuck in season 2 meta...
