Sejuani's supposed to make an impact before she has Randuin's, and you're looking at level 5 E. Before that, whenever she ganks she goes from a huge-ass/long-ass slow to a much milder one, which is a lot less reliable/dangerous for a kill to happen.
Cant take LMS hipsters serious.

What is Azir?
I get you have Xerath the one man siege terror whos absolute shit in the jungle,
You have Orianna who's half utility half damage, more of a controller type mage,
You have Fizz who's the trickster assassins bar none,
Then you have Ryze (RIP) whos the late game mage tank carry boss.

What is Azir? Utility? Controller? Is he tanky or is he more of a Kayle style? Nashor's tooth is great of him but I also find people who dont even want to touch that item and do great with standard AP, then I get the tanky azir who goes in and .

Im checking probuilds and I cant even get a standard summoner spell to go on, let alone rune, mastery, item build and fucking lane for that matter. I know hes strong, but how do I make him stronger?

Im testing out some builds with him. Currently since Im a poorfag and rune pages here in China are money only I didnt want to go more than 6 pages, so Im using Elise/Kayle 26AP 15%AS on him. Its interesting. Its not bad but its not great either, since the lack of MR makes you highly squishy, hence the chinese nickname for him "Golden Crispy Chicken".
Regarding itemization, Im already playing him like Kayle so Nashor's rush on him is core, hes not that mobile and can really get into the thick of things so a quick Zhonya after Nashor's is best.

Hes not that mana hungry as long as he has blue since hes not a very "spammy" type of champ. He lays his minions down and they go to work. Q is for repositioning and E is for chasing or running away. I havent found a good reason to initiate with him since hes simply not that tanky with my build early on and his sustained damage is ridiculous with good soldier positioning.

If game is decent I like going Rylai+Liandry, It makes him decently tanky and his soldiers basically get a free red buff. Void goes without saying as core but it really depends if opponents are stacking lots of MR.

If game requires that I go for a mana regen item Haunting guise will be ditched for appropriate athenes/necromonicon

Ive toyed around the idea of going a RoA early but it just delays his Nashors too much.

I havent toyed around with him as much as I want and would appreciate inputs, observations and such for Azir..

W is a nerf early buff late. The onhit needs 1k hp for % to match the old flat. However, the AOE dips from 86 to 66. So, the she's shittier at AOEing camps and to make up for the AOE drop on the main target it needs to have 1500 max HP. The problem is that Crimson Raptor has 1200HP, Greater Murk Wolf has 1320, and Ancient Krug has 1440. The only large monsters in the jungle that this is a buff against is buffs and Gromp.

This and slow duration are the main reason why I consider these changes a nerf. They do nothing to help her as a jungler and only hurt her.

Like, lets look at the bird camp for an example.

The little guys have 250 HP and the big guys have 1200.


A level 3 Sejuani currently will do 220+4% enemy HP+10% bonus HP+1.8 AP

With normal items n' stuff this will come out to 220+10/48+5.8+39.6
Or 275 vs little guys and 313 vs big guy. Enough to kill the little guys and make you sit there autoing the big guy forever.


With these changes she'll do 180+11.5/55.2+31.9+33

Or 256 vs little guys and 300 vs. big guy. Enough to kill the little guys and make you sit there autoing the big guy forever.


Basically, clear speed shouldn't change at all. It is likely the same number of autoattacks on big things early regardless, but because of the better ratios and E cooldown her clear speed will get better as she gets more levels.


And her E slow goes from a 22% uptime to a 25% uptime, so. Critically if you have a slow from other source (Randuins or a jungle item) it lets you E - Randuin - E for a longer duration in total.

Wait, is it the first tick of W that the enemy takes the % damage or is it the auto reset on-hit part? It reads like the on-hit to me.

As for E I'm more concerned about ganks where I'm not ~6.5k into my build and having a really crappy slow because now I have ability max tension between W an E.

Her better ratios don't actually help her until later in the game, which isn't where she needs help.

It doesn't matter which is which for W, they're both AOE. Everything takes full damage from W.

Her E is straight better at level 1, although it doesn't matter much.


I can see an argument that her level 5-8 area would be weaker due to a lower slow duration, but I'm not sure how big of a deal it'll be. Sejuani has a lot of CC, more than most junglers, and will continue to have more than most junglers.

There'd even be an argument for leveling W first after the change, methinks. Then you could just power farm and only gank with ult, hooray!

You never ganked with E1 in the past anyway because you maxed it. Current rank 2 has 20 more damage and .25 second longer slow. Literally the only thing new E has over it is 2s shorter cooldown which doesn't matter in the gank.

He does what he wants and he does it well. Flashmobbin' that shit with his entire army like it's no big deal.

But seriously though, I'd put him somewhere between the zoning Orianna skills and dps (if you let him) of Kayle.

Azir is sustained dps as opposed to the burst that most mages do, along with pretty sweet zoning, mobility and utility. Anyway, nobody said his role had to be unique. What if you don't like ori, do you just not play a utility mage?

Its not about the uniqueness of role, its pinpointing the exact or semi definition of a champions role, since once you understand the role, or at least the gist of it, you can play and build him/her accordingly.

I dont play Ori since I dont really main mid (Xerath Karma...Lucian Sivr?), and Karma excels Orianna in everyway until late game.

Here Azir aint the emperor hes the golden crispy chicken. I love his animations and style..and I wanted to play something interesting for mid lane. Ive been juggling him and Hecarim mid since they are both really interesting.

I havent been able to use Azir's tower passive effectively tho. It feels more like a region problem since no one really knows how to play with Azir anyways.

Orianna has AoE knockup, Karma doesn't, and it's useful as soon as team fights start. There, one way in which Orianna is undoubtedly better before late game. Considering that I've seen Ori more in competitive play than Karma though (at least when I've watched) I find that statement very hard to believe even if you removed its hyperbole.

TO ME Karma beats out Ori in a very large margin IN SOLO Q.

To me orianna is to much of a make or break champ for me to want to even learn her for solo q. Shes not the lane bully she used to be, she cant really make any trick plays, and if she botches her ulti even once my teammates will all blame ori for the entire fucking game. She has almost no room for error and her laning phase can only really be described as "surviving" vs many of the current mid laners. Karma on the other hand takes everything I want on a utility mage and has them on steroids. Kiting power, long range poke, aoe damage, shield, speed boost. Sure her CC ability isnt as strong but its not non-existant either and she makes for an amazing duelist and skirmisher. Her teamfight might not be as strong as unbotched shockwave orianna's but she more than excels her in the small fights early-mid game, which will dictate most games of solo q.

Sure, orianna hits that ulti and holy fuck its amazing, but more than often I see too many people flat botch it or have it dodged out. Maybe 10-20 ulties I see one good ulti on a decently fed orianna at the right place and right time. Of course, with good communication orianna becomes really strong for the team, but trying for good communication on solo q when more than often you have to ask what the fuck your jungler is doing is kinda hard.

But this is what's annoying. He falls out of favour (perceived strength aside - another discussion is if he is so weak, why still so banned - surely there is a problem there) and receives buffs straight away. See Ahri for another example.

They can't just buff Sej. They have to stuff around with her kit too, which doesn't really need it. That sort of thing is what's annoying.

In my tests, Kayle had no trouble fully clearing the jungle with AS/ARM/CDR/ARM, 21/9/0, EWEQER, golems->wraiths->red->wolves->wight->blue, into ranger's, with devourer at 9:30. New nerfs to ranger's/golems will be unfortunate, but it might still be possible.
