 I haven't really played Viktor top (think I ended up with him because of a confusion while I thought I was mid), and the guy against me counterpicked with Irelia, a most lopsided match-up, so my view is... skewed. x') I still play him when I have to go mid, doing fine although I still think I'd do better with old Viktor. Add to this that without LB/Zed/etc. popular it helps a lot. | ||

General idea of Hec mid is cloth 5 start, rush homeguards tabis, bully and push your lane over and over and just farm up or roam well. You are a god tier mid lane bully vs Zed, Yasuo, Talon, decent vs Jayce riven and whatnot. Your first back should be flask or ninja tabi's with homeguard. You basically just rinse the lane over and over until you get your TF and Frozen heart going and you are one unstoppable machine. The thing is, hes horrendous vs any AP, especially vs ranged AP. You CANNOT build vs them properly without delaying core TF and FH. Homeguard rush is fastest on tabi's if you want some defense, as the extra 200 gold for mercs will delay your build and cloth 5 start is much better early. Plus you have a absolute shit time laning vs ranged AP so you cant even rinse the lane properly anyways. Ive experimented a bit vs Fizz but he just rapes you if he gets ahead and grabs an early armguard. Core items are Tabi-Homeguard-TF-FH with early flask after tabis. 21/9/0 with hp/mana on minion kill and 5% cdr. runes 5% cdr and ADquints reds or apen/ms whatnot but really AD quints+reds is great. TF is absolute god on hec due to his E procing the sheen active and basically deleting people if you get it early enough. FH is also god on hec as long as you are going vs AD. FH + Bluebuff will hit you 40% cdr along with the 10% from rune/masteries, You bully the fuck out of your lane opponent since all these AD mids trade in "bursts" while you dont fucking stop once Q stacks double and has half the CD. You dont even need to auto the champ while they have to in order to return fire once their skills are down, forcing them to take even more from minion damage. No AD melee can win trades vs hec with cloth 5. Ive flat killed people at level 1 because they didnt respect the Q CD mechanics. You always get to whereever your team needs you around the midlane faster than anyone else, and your roaming is always scarier since unless they ward close to your midlane no one can react fast enough if you do your roams properly, and if not, you push your lane too damn fast and hard for your opponent to be able to roam anyways, and since you counter pick into assassins mostly, being able to take away roaming from them helps tremendously already. Depending on how well you are hitting those hecarim windows, you should be absolutely unstoppable in teamfights, otherwise your job will be peel and chasing down stragglers. That, or you are fucked since if hec gets really behind hes done for. Personally, its fun to be able to bring out this guy into the field, but since hes such a "counter-pick" he shouldnt really be considered a real mid-laner. He does his job really well as the counter pick to AD mid laners but other than that there are much, much better picks. | ||

re. kalista - you can spam attack move click and no matter what your attack speed is you will hop around like a bunny rabbit. i didnt understand the way attack move click worked with her passive until last night. i no longer suck with her. | ||

Because a handful of people who have short win streaks with him does not change his overall win rate. Congrats you went 10-1 to end the season. He still has a 46% win rate, maybe we can be generous and say 48%. That isn't good. And it isn't surprising, many other mids do what he does but better (wave clear and team fight zone control), and often with lower skill requirements (hitting laser can be wonky due to its smartcast behavior), the only unique aspect he has that other mids don't those other mids don't usually need (Viktor chases amazingly well due to q speedup) or they can simply kill viktor for trying. | ||

Over the period after the change Vik lost an average of 3% win rate and he was average before it (and harder to play by a good deal) | ||
