Honestly it's probably a good thing. I hate how rarely you get to see or try off meta picks without having your team bitch at you or cry the entire game.

Truth.
My god, as a bot lane main it's near infuriating to watch my support stand 15 "feet" behind my champ doing nothing until we lose our turret or get bailed out by a good jungler. The laugher is when they tell me that I'm being too aggressive after I've got both of my opponent laners to 1/3 health and I'm begging for ANY sort of help from my support to finish them off. Will that stop them from diving in 1v2 when I have to bail from the lane after 1v2ing for the first 10 minutes? Hell no, the moment I hit B, in goes my support to feed a free kill and legitimately ask "Why didn't you follow up?" when I'm backing at 50 health. It gets even more frustrating when I've built up a 30 CS lead by level 6, rocking a BF sword vs Dorans, Longsword, Boots. And my support is telling me we have to play "safe". Seriously? Fuck off.
It swings both ways though. As support I've seen plenty of ADCs play the same way. They stand 10 "feet" back, passively attempting to last-hit creeps while the wave builds to 13 minions and pushes into our turret over and over again. They refuse to poke or trade with the opposing laners and complain that I'm playing too aggressive when I've got them down to 1/3 health and I'm begging for some sort of follow up on all of the damage I'm doing to finish them off. Invariably, these types of ADCs build Berzerker's Greaves before purchasing ANY form of damage, followed by an Avarice blade into Shiv, before FINALLY purchasing a vamp scepter at 15 minutes... What the fuck is wrong with people?
Brand's been frequently played jungle and support by both Scarra and Qtpie though, so it's not like it's totally new or unknown, especially considering how popular Qtpie's stream is.

Well brand is ranged, he shouldn't be having too much issue with jungle as he can get in the "invincible" zone.

I wanted it to be just "hit shit", but then again, your awesomeness wouldn't have been to shine fully through and lesser intelligent people would've been hurt <3
Brand support is ok, it's nice that his passive will proc spellthief's all three times but that's about it far as I've seen.
It's good (as is pretty much any other AP) at blowing up baddies or people who haven't seen it before bot lane, but you'll lose to anyone prepared. Leona does almost as much damage as most AP cheese bot lanes if you proc her passive twice and can take a lot more damage.
But it is fun...
(you know what's real cancer? Xerath/ Soraka botlane, that shit is hilarious)
What's cancer is the new caster minion particle. It's so fucking impossible to farm if you're not playing AD with that. A minion loses a quarter of his health from nowhere, can't see it coming, can't kill it.

this and also the laser turrets bug the hell out of me on the new map

Last night my client bugged out and caster minions were firing flash icons at things. I laughed.
Well at least it was easier to see this way. The turret thing is annoying at first too but I got used to it after something like 2 games. One game I picked Jax and I legit missed 7 out of 10 minions under the tower because I didn't notice which one it attacked, purple on purple can be pretty hard to see...

It works both ways don't know how many times I had an adc tell me I am only farming don't fight when i picked Leona or karma and am fucking there adc to all hell while they last hit minons instead of grabing an easy kill.
Like, my problem with support is that I'm overaggressive in lane. I think I see good spots to trade on because I know I would want to go in there if I was the ADC and I end up overplaying an all-in. I need to learn how to trade without committing everything. It would probably help if I learned the exact numbers of champs and common openings.
It's probably a result of I never pick support in solo queue and I only play with baddies in premades (aside from my r5s team which I'm the adc for by definition) so the spots I see as good spots the adc doesn't necessarily recognize or know how to capitalize on.

In one game of mine the tier one turrets were shooting Brand's Q icon. I have to admit that they looked better as flamethrowers.

I wish I could get my client to glitch out like that. All that happens when I bug out is I develop these obscenely huge minion waves which only I can see but will get stuck on.

yeah, even if you're not supposed to be "hitting" anyone because you're melee, a leona/blitz/alistar with no understanding of positioning/zoning that's just standing behind the adc is probably the most frustrating and useless lane partner possible.
One of my patented strats involves hiding behind my adc until they get all-inned on upon which I grab the enemy under tower. They get a kill, and I do, worth!

Ya I covered all of that in the second paragraph lol. Bot lane just encompasses and magnifies the biggest issue with LoL, which is that the games you get stuck with complete idiots, you're trapped, and there's no escape for at least 30 minutes of your time.
