As a warwick main with 200+ games played, imo
the ult nerf affects jungle warwick more, and doesn't affect lanewick as much, as it means warwick ganks less. I think R is what makes him so strong for jungle warwick. I build mobis, FF, wits end, botrk, sunfire (then random tank item last) on jungle warwick and its pretty much a kill on adc/assassin with just ult. With lanewick I build cdr and more tank but even with botrk/wits end, ult Q can take an adc to low hp or 40% hp of other champs
with the coming jungle changes, i think its a warranted nerf, since with smite it equates to 150 extra true damage on ult at level 6 (300+ at lvl 18). I'm thinking that you can even run smite/ignite on lanewick, rushing the jungle item and getting back to lane at 6 will be a guarenteed solo kill.
against hard laners like riven, lane smite can help him cs slightly, and the smite will basically give him unlimited vision on target so that its impossible to juke ww (grants 6s vision, with ult the enemy will surely be under 50% for e). you can now build assassin on lanewick and go neo-feral flare, wits end, botrk, sorc boots; with smite and ignite its like a surekill on anyone caught out
I just hope warwick doesn't become considered super OP so that it becomes permaban/pick status until its nerfed, because I want to wreck faces with it :D

Have you ever thought of getting a casting job for Riot instead of OnGameNet?
I prefer to be a freelancer since it allows me to cast other games, create my own shows (like Summoning Insight), acquire personal sponsorships, etc. Riot is doing a good job developing the eSports scene and I enjoy working with them, but I wouldn't want to my current freedoms for job security.

What he means is he wouldn't take a Riot employee imposed casting job. In the LCS, Riot is shifting towards all the casters be official employees. For Champions, Monte is only an independent contractor that works for OGN. This affords him more freedom with his career.

I don't know why you think its an analogy comparing personalities since I obviously don't know what jamal crawford's personality is like. I just know him as a player. in the same regard, boxbox is a flashy riven player with tons of highlights that players like me can only dream of. the personified version of my soloq dreams. i thought i made it clear from my post that i had no idea what you were going for with that analogy and from what wei2 said it seems obvious that no one else did either.

If you get hired by Riot you basically can't do anything else and everything you say has to be Riot speak. Perfectly understandable not wanting to become that if you have a stable income source already.

Yeah. Applying for contracts on a yearly basis is definitely more stable than working full time for a big, well known company.

Well if he thinks he can keep making the contracts then he might view it as stable. But well, he expressly said he didn't want to trade his freedom for the stability.

I think that's just the salt talking to be honest. He would be doing almost exactly the same thing working for Riot.
By phrasing the answer like that he just burnt some bridges.

Do you think Riot would actually want Monte's casting for LCS? It's a completely different level of casting. Do you even watch OGN? DOA and Monte's casting is vastly fucking different than what Riot has going on for LCS right now.
Being self-employed/free-lancer is something he enjoys, nothing wrong with that. Plus, do you think Riot would let Monte get away with Summoning Insight if he was employed under Rito?

Rito employee contracts have a lot of restrictions.

How am I salty?
He basically burnt his bridge by saying Riot is a terrible place to work at... for no good reasons at all.
