Also if TL puts the effort, they can do it. It's not like TL had some super inside man for every single venture they decided to go through with. I'm also pretty sure Neo is the only staffer with connections since there's no demand for it. If TL needed connections, I'm sure they would find people who do or slowly learn about the scene and its people on their own. TL has done much more impressive things in the past than fielding a league of legends team with far less resources. The majority of the staff and higher ups at hand clearly don't have an interest in LoL, but if they did I have no doubt that they could do it. While its super awesome to know that our community thinks TL could conquer the world in a week (if we put in the effort), unfortunately, it's not even close to reality. There's so many things that we've discussed in private that we would like to do but we're unable to because we lack the manpower or the circumstances just are not right. Let's say we were looking to pick up a league team (isn't unrealistic as TLPro needs sponsors to sustain itself and league is where the viewers are at) it is far more complicated than just throwing 5 random players together. As Yango rightly points out, in addition to finding 5 players who synergise well and won't bite each others heads off (or go on leadership crusades for that matter) anything TL does we do it because we want to be the best. That means having the proper infrastructure to support the team and be a legitimate contender for an LCS placing (not necessarily right off the bat, but a team with the potential to do that). Ultimately with the size of our staff and the nature of LCS it's not something we can just throw resources at and solve and that means waiting for the right time/players to pop up -- not unlike what we're currently doing with Dota2. It's not a great situation to be in, but its unfortunately the reality for an organisation like Liquid if it wants to do League right. And believe me, if we do league, we'll do it right.
EDIT: re super inside man; that actually having a guy like this for our ventures isn't too far from the truth actually
EDIT2: also, fwiw, TL HotS will make a lot of sense when the team is revealed

Rito please. Try buffing stuff instead of nerfing it ONCE (don't go DotA style though).

just l0l I love TL, but really? What do higher ups have against league? 2casual5them. I mean, like, there's merit comparing it to dota but... no items or individual xp in Storm. That game is pretty fucking carebear. Personally I feel like they're pushing HOTS, well everyone is too hard to be a competitive game when its just.. not there. there is literally no need to do anything because no gold no items no cs. you just fight that will get ridiculously old after a while. not to mention the obnoxious ass(20$ LOL) hero costs

Though my point was I do think TL CAN create a team and probably at least get into the LCS within a split or two, I obviously do not think that it will be a top team nor will it go without major difficulties considering the manpower TL has right now(not much). That said, I do respect that TL takes pride in its work and wants to put out the best in whatever it pursues. It's a large part of why many of us came to this site. Thanks for the response and I really hope TL can do LoL in the future. I know I would be a total fanboy for it. I wouldn't

Not that it didn't have bad sides, and that it wasn't going to turn its culture, however nice it could sometimes be, in an inbred thing, but I don't see "the tavern" suceeding, or at least not with the current pool of users. It feels disconnected to just create a bunch of threads for these things.
On the other hand, re-reading the off topic's OP when I thought it was a new thread gave me a good chuckle again when I wondered at it then reached the "pretty much copy/pasted from moonbear" part at the end, and the second post. "Oh, that explains everything!"

On paper HOTS does look like a pretty shitty, short-stay game, but all the people I've heard from who've played it say they really enjoyed it. Not to mention Blizzard isn't a company that makes a habit of releasing shitty games.
I mean, I personally was really disappointed by SC2, especially Heart of the Swarm (not to be confused with Heroes of the Storm, fuck, why did they create two games with the exact same acronym lol?), but I recognize there was no way SC2 was going to follow BW realistically.
I wish they'd fire their piece of shit writers though. The game is, what? One and a half years old? And I'm still pissed about that absolute garbage single player campaign.

It's not that fun. It may become more fun as more champions (or heroes) are released. As of now, there are very limited abilities so without creeps and more common objective control you're left with a very shallow game.

Recent trends suggest otherwise. By old Blizz standards, they can't compete nowadays.

I did one last game with AP sion yesterday. RIP. On the other hand I can now try gp again.... yarrrr

I think you guys are vastly over estimating TL's financial powers to fund a league team.

I am not sure about some of the reworks rito does. For example Rengar rework was pretty much this: rework, his signature gameplay is still there, however, Sion is practically a new champ, only the name stays the same, nothing to do with the old Sion, this is not really a rework, this is justification to delete a champ somehow. Not saying this is bad or good, just wonder why they dont just introduce a new champ and leave the old one, even if he is played in very few games, he is still there and people can troll with him from time to time

They hated AP Sion so they wanted to remove it from the game but still wanted Sion to be in the game. That's why we land up with a new champ that's called Sion.
As for the TL team I don't really mind. there's no TL team or players i actually root for anyway. I do question how much focus HotS/HS is getting when they both lack the very basic functions required for competitive viewing. I assume both these games require next to no resources on the part of the team so picking up teams/players is a free investment if it does go big. League would require actual resources being dedicated to the team which TL hasn't ever had to my knowledge.

HOTS will have replays and ingame observer mode soon, they are working on Hearthstone obs mode as well and the quality of production at the Blizzcon qualifiers was already quite high(courtesty of ESL though) and perfectly watchable without even having a proper observer mode so far. Years ago I thought League would never make it and now its the most popular Esport, I doubted Hearthstone and now they get in tens of thousands of viewers and millions upon millions of people play it. HOTS will carve out its own niche due to its franchise and the uniqueness it brings over LoL/Dota/Dawngate/Smite/w/e.

What kind of soon is this. Blizzard soon, Valve soon or League replays soon?

Take from it what you will, HS obs mode will take a longer while prolly. And yes its kinda hilarious that for ''competitive matches'' teams have to que at the same time right now and hope for the best.

Ah k cool. I mean I wouldn't mind checking it out myself, it isn't really a ARTS like LoL/Dota it's more like WoW Arena type thing which may be fun who knows. The whole F2P system puts me off though and knowing blizz won't be able to play cross region without rebuying everything.
