You can't let a Maokai or Zac sit on your face, but Annie's base damage isn't exceptional (nor is the sustain she'd get from Q spam), she lacks mobility and stickiness outside of using the rylai slow (which is meh), and her auto animation + base AS are bad enough that she doesn't do much during downtimes. Tibbers can force people to deal with it but it dies rather quickly, and it makes people attack it, not you. I'd surmise you're not enough of a threat with such a build to actually reap its benefits. Even your initiation is flash-reliant. Woah, EUW is so busted. Took 25+ seconds to switch my summoner spells, about as long to take into account my rune switching, doesn't display allies' picks, "retrieving data from server" and almost a minute to launch a game, etc. Getting the TT icon is hard if people don't connect. Turn off ipv6 and it fixes the client shit.Dunno about in game.
About annie top just build full damage.Tankyness is useless on that champ.Dfg>sorc boots with distortion.

I am getting the elo boosting ads again on TL. Anyone else seeing them too????

Not surprising at this time of year. Most my booster friends are going into overdrive LOL.

I understand it's optimal to build her nukemage, that's what her skills obviously show. I just want to see how I can exploit something like molten shield on max cdr in synergy with thornmail and rylais.
There should be a bunch of champs that could be brought out of their conventional role played, repurposed as something else (like morgana and annie for examples of great repurposes for example) with moderate to good success imo.

Possible.I just have some experience playing with it cause a friend of mine played a lot of it in our ranked 5s and he always did that stuff. Also if your champ has very strong parts of their kit you should focus on enchancing them.

Is rylais slow really necessary? Cuz otherwise RoA seems like a better pick-up, big mana pool for perma spamming her abilities, smoother build up early on.

Well if you want to be indie what about vel'koz support, shit hurts man.
|
Vel'Koz works better as the "secret carry" role than "support". Secret carry plays similar to support except it is all a ruse, you are the carry and your ADC is just a distraction.
|
Only if you hit your stuff. Playing him for the Hexakill icon, well I'm no Ghandi yet. D: (And for once it's not a good thing.)

But Vel'koz support is already a thing. And mostly does most damage of the entire team, just like Zyra. I'll check out the champ pool and see what champs have some skills that seem to be severely underused.

This is the definition of a secret carry.

You can always play full tank morde. Your goal in fights is to be in the middle, soak a bit of damage, and most importantly ult whichever of their carries dies first, preferably obviously the ADC. At that point you are suddenly immortal and have a sixth teammember. Can't be more hipster than that.
|
Yes, I see that you've given that definition a few replies ago, but it's slow at work here and I can't reply superfast to this discussion so I came a bit bheind :D
Anyway, what about this build for gangplank, aka the nukeplank build. You basically become an adc with attack speed of 1 every 2.4 seconds or something (range 600, so quite decend) Build is: Hydra, muramana, trinity force, last whisper, infnity edge and cooldown boots. Your q absolutely destroys carries. Downside is: you basically only have your q, LOL

Might as well play Yorick then.

What about both? Morde and Yorick for the hyper negative/anti-adc comp!

You aren't even guaranteed to be in range to Q the enemy carries and you pretty much die instantly the moment you're caught cause you're full glass cannon.
For GP, I like building IBG more. Omen/Banshee's depending on the resist that you need more and IE to make your Q and autos do respectable damage. You bring a lot more utility with the slow AoE in team fights and you itemize so that you can actually go into fights and make use of your autos/passive.

Yeah I've realized that drawback a few games of playing him, another drawback is building the 2 most costly items in the shop and waiting untill 750 mana for the tear stacks, but is it satisfying to nuke carries. Although you won't always be in range to hit the carries, you can always play safe, q poke the tanks (you'll chunk them hard too trust me) and when they jump on you, cc you, cleanse and aa them to death. Your e, tf and upgraded boots (whatever enchantment you take) and aa/q, should make you able to kite a LITTLE bit for survivability imo.
But yeah, gp doesn't really have a smooth optimal build atm, I really loved the Zeusplank build last season but since masteries changed, he suddenly because not viable anymore if I remember correctly. Too bad, too bad..

Too bad, too bad.. I still go Zeusplank but I got 21-9-0 but i can see 9-21-0 work on him. I think it is the best build solo que still but that just me.
