Sion R and Q are not easy skills to constantly get them right and when you miss you are fucked up. These are the abilities that define him, there is neither safe out nor I cannot get out but I did smth for the team to win the fight when you don't land Q + R or just Q or R. Its straight 4v5 + some feed for the 5s )
Also I am not convinced that when you hit your skill shots you do more that other champs, meaning that there is a skill trade off, if you are good you get more from the champ, if you are bad you get less than average. Looks like if you do good you get a regular reliable tank, nothing more, nothing less, but if you do bad you doom your team.

Sion is a pretty classic league melee champion that can't gapclose so is kinda useless.

I just don't get how this "coded as a minion" shit keeps happening. Like, how in the hell have they not come up with a class for stuff like that?

To me he seems like he is very weak without his ult. Its easy to avoid or CC him out of his stun and he is super vulnerable to kiting. With his ult he can chain his ult and Q to do a lot of damage. But if he misses it he is really bad.

Clearly better out of the jungle, since the ult means strong lane ganks and ganking side lanes from river is much more risky. He should still be able to lane against melee though

Well it is almost a nobrainer that a melee champion with a charge up skill that roots HIMSELF is bad unless his numbers are grossly overtuned.

Maybe he is better at splitting, I don't know.

Maybe they want to become dota and just have random bullshit interactions between skills just becaused they are coded incredibly weirdly, and hope that their fans will argue that that totally makes sense and is logical and has to be like that because you emit an invisible fan of knives that does 0 damage and thus it totally makes sense.

You might have to redefine "good" then.

Also, I'd be very surprised if anyone at Riot released a Champion thinking "well, this probably will be bad." Their issue is generally their predictive skills, not their effort.

For what it's worth new Sion is super fun to play from the jungle. Sometimes you just feel like "RRAAARRRRGH HULK SMASH!" regardless of how good the champion is, see: Darius.

Champion is underpowered on release: Riot has no idea what they're doing, all their reworks are shit and ruin the champion.
Champion is overpowered on release: Typical Riot, makes a champion overpowered on release just to make a quick buck and then they nerf them a few weeks later.

I feel it's more powerful in pushing than in defense. How do you stop a siege at your T2 that has a enemy tower at your T1?


I think this is kind of the problem I have with it. The towers time out, so regardless of strength they aren't really that OP at preventing splitpushes (they are annoying vs. sieges), so their power is like 1/2 in those situations. But when you are going forward its ridiculously strong. Almost like a non-skillshot version of the old Nidalee.

Remember, nidalee was never objectively overpowered (even in pro games), instead she just won or lost really hard based on what kind of game it was.
