Is this normal? 8 games in my promotions from gold 1 to plat 5 (first lost 2:3 and 2nd is 1:2 for the moment) I play with only high platinim players, i mean plat 1 and 2 mostly, very few are 3 and 4. From whole 10 players I am the only one that is gold and again I dont play with plat 4-5, its plat 1 to 3 mostly 1 and 2. I dont understand this, because when I am not on promotions i play golds + plat 5 people, sometimes 4

I guess Rammus is bugged? Gets a QoL change, win rate goes up 6%. Something is up.

Yes. Just means your mmr is ~plat 3 or 2, so even if you lose more than you win you'll go right back into promos.

Rammus is in a decent spot. Very strong early ganking. Good Dmg early levels. And late game he becomes a good front line tank. He might get a reduction in his Q dmg I believe as its rather high at level 1. Oh and the QoL change was also a decent buff. While not huge definitely helped him.

If you switch from Q to W, what does Rammus retain for the 1s grace period? Only the speed boost, or the ability to knock-up on contact too?
I feel like he's pretty meta reliant too. Give him picks who want to be aggressive early, or assassins mid, and he'll thrive. Get shit like Ziggs, Mundo vs Shyvana in the offlane, a good 1v1 jungler like Lee or Elise to shit on him, and popular Morgana/Janna/Thresh for supports, and I don't see him having many successful ganks early on. Sure, in soloQ you can identify a guy yoloing all the time and camp him, but overall such a meta is not too good for him.
Maybe stuff like Zed becoming popular again helps him.

Yeah, it's because of how mmr works. When I first broke into past my mmr dropped like 300 points from when I first started my promo series. Was playing low diamond's, I lost my series like twenty times, and then finally won it against life plat 4 player's with relative ease. Was winning at like a 60% clip long term (barely lose series, win two games to be back in series) and still unable to win series until i lost like ten straight games.
They kind of dick you on promos because in order to get to the promo your mmr is automatically higher than the division you trying to get into, and you need to win at a 75% clip for like eight games to move up.
I think a rioter said that promo wins rates are like 20%.

Iirc the promo success rate was 47 percent. Not high but not terrible. The problem I think is that this counts all promos, not just the highest one you've reached
