If you want a cheap top laner and you don't play top much, Mundo is always a good choice.

The particularly good thing about Mundo is your enemy will typically have to expose themselves to ganks early and often in order to beat you. And even losing matchups can be turned around by them eating 1 or 2 unnecessary cleavers.

Tryndamere is definitely harder to play though. If you're in a tough match up and you're inexperienced with him, you'll probably just get wrecked and be useless. With Mundo, even in a tough match you can always just farm with cleavers and outscale.

With the resurgence of AP tank tops in general (Gragas, the Cow, Malphite, Mundo), what is the best way to combat it from a top laner or jungle perspective? Not to mention the metagame seems to be shifting a bit to allow pocket pick assassin mids to return if the person in mid has a high enough skill/mechanics level (Faker on Zed/Yasuo, Voyboy on Yasuo/Talon/Zed, etc.)
Bot lane seems to have settled down mostly, what with the FotM ADCs being Koggles, Trist, Twitch, and small pocket picks of Jinx or Vayne. Support looks to be Nami, Thresh, Braum, or Morgana.

Jax, Darius, Aatrox, Malphite, Riven, Shen, Renekton, etc. Nidalee can be a tough match.

I prefer deathcap but I think other people like DFG. I usually end up getting both anyway.
QEQWQR R>Q>E>W
Lategame you want just a bunch of caster items and one or two tank items, like DFG/Deathcap/Void/(Rod or Grail)/(Sorc or CDR)/(Sunfire or FH or Abyssal or Randuins or SV) \
DFG is a bit stronger versus 1-2 people because of the CDR (mainly getting your ult back faster) and because of the raw damage increase is so much higher than Deathcap. So which one you get should be determined how how close you think laning is to ending. If you think the game is going to have skirmishes where you fight a few small battles, get DFG. It will let you nuke those people you catch much harder than deathcap(and faster due to cost). If you think you're going to need the full AoE team fight ult right now, then you get Deathcap.

Can you use DFG while Malphite is ulting and is the projectile faster than your ult to apply its debuff before they take the damage?

I think Malphite travels faster than the DFG projectile, so you'd need to cast DFG before the ult.

I think you usually q first but even if you don't the dfg active burst is so high it's basically impossible to do less damage.

So I was looking at champion armor values at level 18, and Maokai is 94 (highest in the game tied with Poppy), which about 10 more than the average bruiser and is a whopping 22.4 more than Trundle. Wut.

Maokais stats are all very high. except i think mana/mregen? but i could be wrong there.
