What's scary isn't that he does these plays, it's the consistency he pulls this shit off. A lot of pro players have plays like this, but Faker does it on a regular basis in solo queue and pro play. It's fucking ridiculous.
And he does this with seemingly the broadest champion pool in the world. idgi

Came across more as the difference between Faker and the next tier was a lot greater in a meta where mid was able to carry harder influence d their playable and they haven't adapted to new meta / mids only somewhat worse than Faker

Why do you think they lose those lanes?
Well, they don't always, they just lose them against the Elite teams (most recently SS Blue/White, before that KT Arrows). That, IMO is because Impact/Piglet/Pooh are solid B-Tier laners right now (with the exception of Piglet on Twitch), and so they lose to the A-Tier laners, or they sometimes lose against B-Tier laners with A-Tier Junglers because Bengi is also a solidly B-Tier player. In those 3 series I indicated Bengi did not focus Faker's lane (in fact, Faker often gets focused, but most teams actually don't do that anymore because he is very hard to gank). Also, of course, most of those elite teams have players who are good enough and smart enough to not die to Faker 1v1 on the current safe midlane champions.
My main criticism with Faker would be his Ziggs play which is not really that great IMO, and Ziggs is the current midlaner that lets you influence the sidelanes the most (did anyone notice how they did decently in Game 1 with the free Zilean EXP?).

And he does it pretty much every single solo q game... even multiple times in one game.

I would say a OGN season and half ago, Faker was down right the best at all champion types, and play styles. Just a plain god. Now there are a few midlaners that play their pocket picks as good or slightly better than Faker.
In summer faker was S tier, ryu was A tier then the rest were B or below. Winter is when no one was close. Atm deft is the only player in any position in Korea I consider S, the rest of samsung, faker and kakao are A+ then the rest whatever.
Well in the debut season, Ozone beat SKT by conceding free farm to faker and shit on the other lanes. Faker couldn't carry hard enough to get SKT to the finals. The highlight vids of his leblanc, ahri and jayce(in ogn) largely come from this time.
I still remember him roaming bot, and like 15s after last seeing somebody, sniping them with a blind EQ on jayce.
At that time he was playing EVERY champion at top 2 world status. It was absolutely unreal.
