As long as they respect pickorder like anyone else duos are fine though (and obviously there are lots of those who don't write anything, so you don't even know they are duoing). It's not an inherent duo problem, but rather a problem with human beings that happen to duo.

When I used to duo with my friend and he jungled while I laned he also never preferentially ganked for me. Could be largely due to the fact that I'd always do well in my lane so he could go try get another lane not to fail. Don't really get why you'd focus on your partner, part of having a duo buddy is that it's someone you don't have to worry about being bad.

I feel like when I duo i expect my partner to win their lane withotu my help, but i will throw them a bone and get a gank if its possible/easy to make sure i dont have to worry about them anymore. When i duo'd with a friend who mained top i just told him to pick scaling champs and at worse go even in lane and play safe so i could snowball other lanes more easily, and that worked in most of my games

I'd just focus on him early game so he could carry. Ganks on a lane you can communicate with tend to work out better. That is, unless the laner is my roommate who is a complete idiot.

They come into the game claiming "duo bot" and if someone with a higher pickposition goes adc or support they become angry and ruin the atmosphere before the game even started. This has nothing to do with skill whatsoever. As long as they respect pickorder like anyone else duos are fine though (and obviously there are lots of those who don't write anything, so you don't even know they are duoing). It's not an inherent duo problem, but rather a problem with human beings that happen to duo. I play a ton of duo in ranked and I am in one of those "annoying duos" that type "premade bot" as soon as they enter the lobby. There are tons of reasons for that and in general people let the premade duo go bot because they are aware of these simple reasons. First, you're duoing to have fun with a friend, and it is less fun to be separate from each other (mid and top for example) : each player is playing his own game unless you somehow camp mid as a toplaner or the other way around. Second, if you're duoing you can use programs to talk to each other and you're gaining an advantage if you go bot together. Even the feeling is better this way. These awkwards moments when you flash ult to get a kill and your partner walks away because he did not think you would do that are gone. As a player who uses duo queue a lot, I hate to be forced to go bot with someone that I don't know because I know that we will not be on the same page and I will have to be a lot safer and obvious in the way I play, plus I can die because of a lack of coordination or a miscommunication. And yes, when a player says "fuck duos always feed never not feed" and instalocks a support because he picks before my duo, I do get "angry". Same for people who don't say a word and quietly lock in a botlaner. Well, angry is not the word because I'm not someone who "rages" and I don't duo with people who rage either, but I will either dodge or do a duo top with my partner. Because I am wasting my time otherwise. I am here to play with my friend when I duo, not to play with an unknown guy who, from the get go, refuses to let me do what I please. I guess the key point is that duoing is pointless if you're not going botlane together, you might as well solo queue in that case (and I agree that the non-botlane premades are obnoxious). When you duo queue, you're aiming for an experience that is totally different from the solo queue one. You're not just one man among five trying his hardest to win a LoL game. Someone who doesn't let you go bot is telling you : "Nope, you're playing my game from now on. Back to solo queue." Plus, he prevents his own team from getting the inherent advantage that is a duo lane. This is why the "duo bot" actually has a priority over the pick order. There are all the reasons in the world to let the duo go bot, and no reason to try and prevent them from doing it.

Just because you think laning together is the only way to have fun and automatically grants you priority over any of the other 3 guys in your game (if you guys want to have priority on bot because you're 2, then then should have priority on you not going duo top since they're 3, right?) doesn't mean you should feel that self-entitled, nor that everyone should think the same. It's not about one's own selfish entertainment, it's a team game, so yes, even outside of the game it relies on people being able to communicate and find common ground. What'd you say to someone telling you that he finds duoing top and jungle so they can play dive buddies in teamfights? Who go support+jungle because they enjoy controlling vision and the game and leading the team this way and invade and stuff? Jungle+mid to get mid rolling then go full gank squad the two of them? Would you tell them "no you're wrong, to enjoy themselves a duo must lane together, hence they have to go bot"?
