You also have to compare the difference in mechanics/understanding of the game then too. Boxer/oov were the flash/jaedong of their day simply because they were kings of the current way the game was played/on the cutting edge. i dont feel like something like that can really exist in league tbh it's called faker.

SKT1 K was my hope to hopefully push the boundaries of league and become somewhat of a "team bonjwa" in league but that seems to have crashed as of now. I don't know if that's possible at all because League is inherently going to create many more "Boxer" than "Flash/Jaedong" due to its ever-changing game balance. There is always stopping new to abuse so by the time one player perfects a certain playstyle or champ, it might be on its way to becoming obsolete. People called Misaya the TF "god" but he is now largely irrelevant even in his own region simply because his champs fell out of favor when the meta shifted. The same thing happened to Dade, and most of EG + Alliance. Just imagine how screwed Flash or Jaedong would be if BW release a balance patch every month.

Anyways, I think faker is a good example. Even when SKT are losing horribly, faker is playing really well. You just cant carry your team every game at the highest level of competition. And even then, there are some examples of SKT losing every lane and then Faker pulls some totally insane moves and turns the game around. I can't remember who they were against, but he did it on Riven a while back. Due to the nature of a team game, you can't have a dominant team unless the majority of the team is playing really good, so I doubt we'll see "bonjwa teams" (SKT are the only one coming close to it, imo, and even they are showing to have weakspots nowadays) On the topic of Misaya and Faker, I really liked Faker's TF in the third game vs ozone. <3 TF

PBE seems to be feral flare at 30 camps rather then 25, dunno how much that'll help though. Is there anywhere where you can see all the pbe changes at once? The PBE thread is a week or two behind (unless they haven't released many changes since then.) Here. These Kassadin and Rumble buffs look really huge (Kass' shield is fucking dumb, you receive it when you cast, not when Q hits), while Twitch is heavily nerfed. Back in S1/S2 you just participated in online tournaments and if you were good enough then you either qualified or were invited to high-roller tournaments. Nowadays you have 2 SE tournaments over 3 months and if you place high enough, then you get one chance to play a good team, and if you fail then you have to wait another 5 months for next opportunity. The LCS/NACS may be a good system for these teams financially, but I don't think it breeds talent as good as OGN/NLB or an open tournament circuit.

So I was thinking about the blue side advantage and I think i have another potential explanation. The default UI has the map on the bottom right side of the screen. Blue side players will primarily be looking to the right side of their screen as they move/act and so will have an easier time seeing and responding to the minimap.

In Korea it is already becoming like that. Players like Arrow, Kakao, Faker and Flame are quickly replacing G1 players like Woong, CloudTemplar, Rapidstar, and Reapered. The only teams that still have a lot of their original players were teams that came together later and were basically made up of a bunch of high school kids with "potential".

Does that mean if you are (say) bronze, you will be less impacted by the blue side advantage?
