I don't know why you trivialized it in that manner.

I'm surprised that this still happened, with how sensitive the Korean e-sports scene is to match-fixing and the what-not. Did Hoon simply not report this despite being contacted for it and refusing? From what I can gather they refused to and stopped soon which resulted them in being ditched and becoming hoon's good day. It's most likely hoon/trace/casper personally decided to give actscene and promise a second chance and kept it to themselves. It does explain why promise abruptly left hoon good day.

korean reaction would also probbly be swayed by this dramatic suicide and empathize with the players more. they are the true victims here, and the manager guy should go to jail.

It will almost certainly be harder to get sponsors but people should really wait for more facts to make bold predictions about the state of league in Korea.

I would be surprised if they dont prosecute the guy and don't dig into it and find more. There is no way you can have a front team for gambling purposes with a potential payoff big enough that you go to loan sharks for the risk and you are the only team taking part and none of your players are involved. Though LoL is big enough this won't kill it but it will definitely have an impact on the scene in some way.

This is easy material for all of those politicians trying to reduce/ban gaming. It also means pressure to sponsors. But I'd still imagine the popularity of the game will mean this is simply a bump in the road.

I honestly don't know if there is a way to stop this. Riot's way of running the LCS is probably better for players, as they are guaranteed $$. Even if you're part of a big team in Korea, they're making fractions of what NA/EU players make. It's probably impossible as Korea has middlemen such as OGN administrating the tournament who need a cut of the revenue. All it takes is one player to fix a game, and I'm absolutely sure these guys get tempting offers from bookies to fix games.

The government has a monopoly on sport gambling(Sports ToTo), with beyond atrocious odds and a very low limit of $ you can bet. Because of such reasons, there is a thriving illegal gambling business, and with the type of people who would be interested in running such things, you get match fixing. LoL is just another category you can bet in. I honestly don't know if there is a way to stop this. Riot's way of running the LCS is probably better for players, as they are guaranteed $$.
