Apparently he can't use his other skills while self rooted, so when he ults he's just going to use all 3 charges ASAP and then go back to his old thing. I thought what made Xerath different and cool was the self root mechanic. I think moving that to his ult was a great idea, but I wanted there to be some incentive for him to maintain the root for the full 10 seconds, rather than it just being him getting in and out of it as fast as possible. | ||

Its not even a 1 Point wonder now, which is really an important thing to have in most kits. yeah it might have been okay to remove his permaslow and make his speed boost worse with a ramp up time, but they also removed a ton of early and mid-game power with his skill leveling being much less effective because the important parts of his kit are spread across 3 skills now instead of 2. and of course this hurts his mana efficiency as well, for example using his W in the jungle for sustain now gives you literally 0 damage for the mana you spend. btw i checked to make sure and you still lose the ms buff when your shield is popped so the ramp up time is a legit kick in the balls. | ||

There's no way you're going to level it over E when E gives you a better slow and damage while W only gives you a few more move % and survivability. Perhaps W could use a numbers tweak, the mobility on it was nerfed and without the AS it's actually possible that people will forgo it entirely for E. That's mainly a numbers problem. I still think it's a win from a design standpoint, movespeed rampup aside. | ||

Even if I get the shield in, which is like maybe 50% of the time, the silence still hits me, and I still take a fuck ton of damage, even if I choose to get 2 points in E by level 6, I'm still in a world of pain. What I found out was the most successful his landing the polymorph as she goes in, but usually by then the spell still land, and I'm still in a world of pain. Maybe I just need to react faster :/ I hate playing against leblanc, even before they buffed the living shit out of her. | ||

I still think it's a win from a design standpoint, movespeed rampup aside. see you're looking at it from some theoretical, and entirely subjective, viewpoint of what you think champion design should be. meanwhile people that actually want to play skarner are looking at it from a champion balance standpoint where they took one of the least played champions and made him even worse. | ||

My favoured support is thresh, i approve. Skarner runs at team trying to catch a straggler with his ult, 98% predictable positioning. Skarner ults, i hook, skarner brings team mate + a free kill to us, then goes fetal position and cries. | ||
