It's toxic in ranked too. Playing in mid-gold right now is not about your mechanical skills, map awareness, nor decision making. It's about how to prevent the toxic guy on your team to throw less than the toxic guy on the other team.
I am serious.

maybe you should try good map awareness and decision making to test out this hypothesis

I don't understand this, wei.
Of course the enemy team is also less/more toxic. What are you trying to say?

I suppose the point is that toxicity makes it a more volatile and with that frustrating experience in the short term? I understand that.

I'm saying toxicity doesn't affect winrate. If your levelheaded you only have 4 chances of having retards, and the enemy has 5 retards. It stacks in your favor. Infact your winrate should go up during this time if your diplomatic enough.

that argument gets spouted a lot but it also doesnt make sense. bringing down your team through toxicity is just one of the many 'skills' that go in to deciding your mmr. if it follows that 4 people on your team can be toxic vs 5 people on their team can be toxic, your team must be worse in other areas to make up for that fact.
in fact if you arent ever toxic, in a game that often has games lost because of toxicity, it follows that it is in fact most likely that you are the one who is shit, because you get less losses due to toxicity.

It's not about winrate. It's about not having toxic players in your games.

I am serious. Yep. I'm still managing to win a decent amount of games but alot of the games are so stupid lol. Lots of games where our team is winning and people start arguing over the pettiest shit to throw the game. A lot of the games were also won when we were behind because of the other team arguing in all-chat and our team working together while not flaming anyone. Had a great comeback yesterday where we started off 1kill to 15kills because of that. If I win a game with a toxic team, it usually means A) I carried the game B) our team was just that much better in skill compared to other team. Either way, it's not that fun. It's more fun winning a game through a combination of skill AND teamwork. If I just wanted to bruteforce wins through skilldisparity I would just play on my smurf all the time. Also a lot of time I don't want to give the toxic player the satisfaction of winning.
