D4/5 is pretty chill though, most people don't have aspirations to go higher, and aren't likely to drop down either.

Very, very toxic; silver seems to be the most in my experience (not played with many diamond players, so I can't talk from experience there), but I've played with a lot of Silver-Platinum (not very much in bronze, only placement matches and on a smurf for about 20 games, was pretty pleasant even if the players weren't very good).

I see Riven being picked frequently - who started picking her? What's the reasoning behind it? She's been strong al the time, and suddenly she is considered viable again by the pros? Lucian + Olaf being picked - is this a Korean specific thing again? Thanks for enlightening me.

Silver is probably more toxic, but going through Plat is the most frustrating. At least in Silver you can ignore everyone and carry your way through. At Plat, everyone is decent enough (in lane) that you simply can't expect to stomp every time, and you're forced to work with people who don't like to listen to others.

Thanks for enlightening me. Riven has always had a niche in the pro scene Olaf is new to me, doesn't necessarily mean he's new Lucian is a fucking champ and pretty soon everybody gon' be using him.

I don't remember there being a big difference of skill between Silver and Gold. The important part really wasn't the mechanics but the fact that the decision-making doesn't improve one bit, and throws, Dora streaks, not building any MR vs double AP comps, etc. were as prevalent. There was a bit of improvement in Plat, but not necessarily much. That was... interesting, after hinking I wouldn't be able to get Gold because I wasn't good enough (and was fine with it). Reminds you that it's not about you being good, but rather everyone being terrible anyway. There are definitely less ragequits though. Which makes sense, since people who ragequit games lower their win ratio, and thus artificially lower their rating too, hence why those who do it regularly have trouble climbing.

Thanks for enlightening me. Riven starting coming into prominence in a similar way that ahri did. Faker started using her as a counter pick to zed at his peak like ahri was picked to counter TF at the time. It seems that riven as a mid surged in popularity afterwards. Olaf was semi left field, he suddenly became a high priority jungler in Korea I think the undertow changes made him a terror at ganking. Lucian came into prominence as part of samsung blue's siege comp which focused around lucian ADC and nid mid.
