Obviously.
It's really the same shit as when WoW became big. Of course WoW was going to get more flak from people playing other games than they dished out. When your game is the big dog, you don't have to justify yourself to anyone. It has nothing to do with any aspect of the game other than it being the most popular.
At the same time, trying to paint entire communities as being mad about the game's success is just wrong. The majority of people really could care less.
I pretty strongly disagree with the bold. So much of the criticism has been aimed at the perceived lack of depth and/or capacity for displays of skill. Some of that is just people being salty about a popular game, but a ton of it is just people trying to big themselves up as a superstar because they picked the "hardcore" team.
I agree painting it as an entire community is unfair (and a good number of posters on this forum, yourself included are evidence of this). A significant and vocal minority is how I'd categorize it.

It comes with the turf. In many people's eyes, the only way for a game to be the most popular is to sell out and be casual. So they'll point to things that make the game "casual".

But surely you know that the vocal majority of nearly every single game in the history of online gaming have been a minority of the playerbase itself. More people are willing to not talk about/bash other games, because they're content with what they play and don't care what other people like.

Again, the WoW comparison is apt here.
Not suggesting popularity is a non factor, but I think its wrong to deny that at least some portion of the hate comes from a desire from certain shitposters to see ones self as a tireless e-warrior fighting for a clearly superior game.
As someone that's vocally defended LoL across a number of forums that's been my experience at least.
Serve added a monthly fee of 1$ it seems(unless you continue to deposit into the account monthly). Make sure to keep this in mind when opening/maintaining your account. I suggest closing if your not intending on using it.

im getting plat in less then 3 months of hitting 30 iono man
? is that supposed to be some sort of achievement when you've played dota? I hit masters in sc2 in 2 months.
Ladder is just skill measurement relative to everyone else playing, not how difficult the game can be or any sort of skill ceiling it may have.
I find league and dota to overlap in certain areas and require different skillsets in others. I think league benefits a lot more from reaction time and speed whereas dota benefits more from being able to micro multiple units and requires more game sense at a general level. Game sense differs a lot between scenarios though. Compare the lane setups for league to dota and you have many more situations where the power dynamic between champions laning against each other require a lot of experience and knowing how/when to trade is an important thing to know compared to dota.
I think the skill ceiling for league is just fine considering that players like wildturtle, faker, etc. can dominate the ladder so easily and consistently. As far as pro play goes, individually it's probably more difficult to be a SC player, but in the end league is a team game. In a bo5 scenario, more often than not, the better team will win compared to SC where it feels like it just depends on the day. Despite what people may think SC is built around a few "moments" in a game such as a battle or timing decision. League requires a more consistent performance throughout the game and has more opportunities for a team to get ahead.

Man you gotta love the random LoL hate from the DOTA community.
Good news for our game? Time to bash another game for no reason! Really these types of comments should get warnings.
You managed to pick two verifiable shitposters with long mod histories.
I think it's pretty disingenuous to use them as representatives for the DotA community.
As far as mod actioning...well, post volume is high enough that it becomes hard to manage those kinds of posts.
Really if LoL was "officially" supported on TL you'd probably see those kinds of posts all the time on this subforum. If you expect otherwise, you haven't seen how parts of the LoL community disparage other games equally hard.
Well, it's quite clear that the TL DotA 2 community has been elitist from the beginning, originating in the highest levels. Even its general discussion header is so obviously anti-LoL that it's almost not passive aggressive and just openly aggressive.
TL LoL has always been a chill place with much less angry nerds (but of course we have few). I don't see how you can argue otherwise. It's just unspoken on TL because there's nothing we can do about it and there will probably not be anything good that will come out of it.

The game is casual though, but the learning curve is just really well designed. You can be bad at the game but still enjoy it. It's not as overwhelming as dota might seem. A lot of this also comes from the control mechanics and range design I feel. For example, dota skills typically have a much longer screen range than league. It helps quite a bit to have backgrounds in WC3/SC where the unit controls are very similar and moving the screen is something you're well accustomed to.

The general discussion header was actually a response to LoL people who would come into the DotA forums and spam ignorance while using terms like champion and moba, (ala shikyo), which would lead to flamefests. And judging from the size and content of the QQ threads and shitposts in relation to the overall forum its very hard to justify your second claim.

Shikyo says silly stuff but he's really not bad, get mad at us when we ship a xizor or jazriel over there (unless we already have, I guess I wouldn't know).
As far as the terminology, I can't believe you guys actually care about terms like champion and moba. Champion and hero are interchangeable and whether moba is a good term is like the least interesting discussion ever, if somebody actually gets huffy over that maybe you should just smack them upside the head and change the topic because they're obviously the problem?
