Just sayin'.

I often duo with a soraka only player who insists on taking CV.
The map vision is nice and all, but you'll never win a 2v2 unless you go to retardely huge lengths to bait out their summoners beforehand/get the jungler to do it.
An additional summoner is SUCH an advantage and difference it's not even funny.
So after personally trying it a whole lot, I have to say: it's not worth it. Wards are cheap, just place them, and go win 2v2s instead.
€: I should add, when I manage to convince the sora to take exhaust herself, we have a FAR better laningphase. You'll likely not even notice how huge the difference is until you try it.

CV is still quite powerful, but not nearly as powerful as proper warding and just buying more wards as peoples skill at MOBAs increase.
If you want to pick up a support, get fiddle.
|
You're right about barrier/ignite/exhaust, that's why I'm suggesting playing safer in lane and making the higher percentage plays. Being more defensive in lane extends the lane phase I think is core to delaying extra wards for a support item.
|
If the other guys can all in you at any time it doesn't really work like that. They will just entirely zone you from the creep wave.Even back in start of s2 people tried it but when everyone stopped sucking at duo bot we saw no more cv because the agressive lane always capitalized on it's advantage.

I think in order for Clairvoyance to come back it needs to be on an item like they did for Promote.
Put it on Eleisa's Miracle imo, make that item not completely useless.
|
Question is why do you want it to come back?
|
I'm just going to assume you guys would also hate on any support running CV/exhaust (no flash what!?).
So in keeping with the meta, take exhaust/flash, play defensive, extend lane phase, save wards early, pickup support item and hit a mid-game timing. I'm not saying this should be the new meta, just looking into ways of changing the current attitude of "always go HAM never not go HAM"
Another thought occurred to me is that CV is much stronger than wards if you lose the mid game and can no longer safely ward the jungle when the enemy support will just sweep it with oracles anyway.
|
Wait, why would you not want the meta to be "Always ham, never not ham"?

Not having flash is just too dangerous.Unless you are nunu or janna you really can't do it.Even on janna you can make so many plays and win a teamfight by yourself just because you have flash.Cv is amazing if they clear your wards definitely but the things you give up for that ability aren't worth it.
Unless you are talking about pro play you can just buy items on supp it really is no biggie at all.

I want the freedom of choice, I thought this was 'murica.
Oh I like the idea of putting CV possibly as an active on an item.

So, I jumped on the Wukong hype train today and wrecked face for awhile, and then it made me realize something huge.
Sunfire stacks on Wukong's clone.
Imagine a beautiful world where some poor adc picks a fight with an AP wukong, who dashes in then clones away
The AP sunfire does a fair amount of damage, but not enough to kill, and the bewildered Marksman is looking around, wondering what just happened. He feels he is safe. But he doesn't expect the aftershock of this massive AP earthquake. Wukong's clone spins in a circle, creating a cataclysmic vortex of magical damage, a singularity in which no squishy champion can possibly exist. The marksman disappears in a world of poor ap scaling and passive magic damage, and is erased from the game, never to be seen again.
Or do it with AP Shaco for op clones. :|

a bigger difference that hadsen't even been mentioned is, map vision can be purchased, the other popular summoners bring something you can't otherwise have.

no.

I want to see CV Vlad, that guy doesn't need his summoners. Take a hit for the team.
