Too bad last game (even though HoBoast dced for a fair bit) didn't get reviewed, it's still an important thing to review and see who did what right and who should improve on other stuff. I think the support/adc role really work well in these type of setting because you can get constant feedback even during the game. Hope I can be there next one, cheers Last game was nothing to be reviewed. My ISP is Bronze 5 and has a fuckton of room of improvement. I hope I get it fixed and get myself a mic until next week.

Fun games, although as some people have mentioned they were a bit one sided. I think the teams were getting more balanced towards the end though, if eve hadn't dc'ed the last game would probably have been quite close.
Two things which I think might be improved on in the future
1. There were too many people. There can only be 10 players (and two spectators) in a game/lobby, and there were consistently more then that. Not sure what the easiest solution to that is, but maybe having the people who sit out a game sit in some channel together or something then when the next lobby starts we can invite them. Dunno how to organise it but (as the lobby host) it was getting a bit confusing who to invite/when to start.
2. Team communication. A lot of the time it felt just like random people who happened to have voice chat, and only used it in the micro sense (who to focus in teamfights/asking for ganks/stuff like that) rather then a more macro sense (calling for groupings/going to pressure objectives.) There were a lot of people just going off doing their own thing without really communicating/going off to farm while the rest of the team went off together.
Theres nothing wrong with that, just hanging out on TS while playing, but I think it might be fun to try out going a bit more tryhard every now and then. Maybe have one preson volunteer to be captain, and have them make most of the calls/decisions. Other people can voice opinions but everyone has to follow the captains call. Would make for a different kind of game, but might be fun and could also be educational, helping people learn how to work together as a team, and when things work/don't work.
Just some suggestions though.

On the other hand, it gave us a pretty uninterrupted 2v2 down bot.
Which is good practice too.
€: As for the calling/communication, it really only happened in the second game IIRC We should probably all appoint an official shotcaller before the game?

There were plenty of things that can be reviewed, for example something i would have mentioned was ahri (after starting dorans/2pots) got ganked for fb, and came back to lane with a second dorans. I was going to ask why he decided against coming back with boots/ward given that nocturne was showing interest in his lane, and he was now behind.
Just because a game is a stomp doesn't mean there aren't lots of little decisions which can be discussed ^.^

Yep, boots and wards would be better off instead of second dorans.

Was fun, even though they games were rather bad (one-sided, 5v4).
Communication probably has something to do with this being the first time (and for me personally not being used to speaking english). Will certainly become better in the future. We can also try that shotcaller suggestion.
Last game was little to review from the botlane perspective. Maybe the boots instead of dorans start, but otherwise it was pretty standard with Eve disconnecting in the middle of the gank (ty for not killing her standing in front of your tower :D) and Noc/Tf ganks/dives succeeding (expected with no jungle pressure on them). There was a cs difference before that, but I think that was normal for a poke heavy botlane vs 525 range.

I'll try to get my TS sorted so that I can just have it on with voice-activation rather then push to talk, because with push-to-talk I'll never talk much =) As for analysing the last game, I think it's always hard to say how it would've gone had eve not disconnected so often, but the things I saw most was indeed a bit of a lack of wards mid (altho I did gank the shit out of that lane with eve gone which was a bit mean ^^), and obviously lack of jungle control but that's just eve being gone often =)
|
Maybe it's also a good idea to just log into teamspeak a bit more and just do inhouses when there are 10 people online? Also if people want some games tonight I could organize those.

Thought it was because of interference, started playing in the living room, currently it's a lot better (by a lot, i mean small lag spikes once every 2 minutes, still better than getting DC'd and dying to minions because your champ refuses to move). See you when I get this uplink buffer reduced to a reasonable level.

Good morning guys !
First off, I'd like to say I'm terribly sorry that I was not able to show up on time in-game and on Teamspeak - EUW screwed me over hard for the patching and login, and when I finally got there, you guys had already made the first lobby. The whole evening was thus a bit disorganized, which is totally on my side, I should have thought about possible server problems and prepared accordingly. Sorry about that !
Then again, I felt it was quite a success for the first EUW Inhouse - there were around 15 people all night long on TS/in game, which definitely shows interest, and even though the games were not the best (for the lack of organization and preparation of the best line-ups possible, plus many people not being able to voicechat properly), I daresay we all had a good time together. It was great putting a voice on you guys
A couple of remarks :
- Now that it's launched and that we're pretty much sure interest is here, I would ask you guys to please purchase a mic, even a cheap one, if you're planning on playing in the next inhouses. It's just that much better if everyone is able to talk.
- I'm all for the "shotcaller" position being decided in the lobby for each side. It will always be a different person every game, as I feel it would be a very good experience to have for everyone. We don't have to do it all the time, but I would like to try it for a couple of games.
- One particular point about Europe being Europe as opposed to NA : English is not the native language of most of us, and it definitely can be a bit difficult to focus hardcore on your play when you have to speak in another language. Even though I lived quite a long time in English-speaking countries, I myself found it very hard to play to the best of my ability while chatting in English with my mates. I do feel this will get better over time, as 1) we get to know each other better and recognize our voices, and 2) practice makes perfect, and chatting in English will become a second nature very quickly if we do this on a regular basis.
I would also like to thank you guys for being so nice about the positions you played : there never was the slightest bit of argument for one position, and it was lovely to see everyone willing to improve on different positions than the one they might have liked to play better.
A special mention goes to Promises, and his amazing Viktor play in game 2 - I was definitely surprised by the pick and the way you played it, good job mate !
I'll just add a quick Poll so I can decide better on which days would be best to decide for the "official" Inhouse Day. Of course, this by no means implies you cannot organize a spontaneous Inhouse if enough people are logged in and ready to go, but it'll help I'm sure.
Poll: Best day for you to play in EUW Inhouses?Weekday night (9) 53% Saturday night (6) 35% Friday night (1) 6% Saturday afternoon (1) 6% Sunday afternoon (0) 0% Sunday night (0) 0% 17 total votes Your vote: Best day for you to play in EUW Inhouses? Love you guys, keep it up !

I voted Monday, but Monday through Thursday are the best days for me. Sorry for not being able to come yesterday - I hope you guys had some good games despite the server problems

Weekends fit me better because I'm on GMT+2 but I can play on any given day. Tried playing with the cable and it's all smooth and clean.

Would possibly make more sense to add a "weekday" option.

True that, I will edit, definitely makes more sense. Vote again in a minute please

I played zyra last night (in game 2). I focused on my own play, but I can give a couple of remarks about the second game.
Firstly, I think we could have won midgame fights even if we were a bit behind. We had a good Aatrox+orianna combo. Renekton is also a better teamfighter then teemo. However we fell behind 0-12, which was a bit too much. I haven't seen exactly what happened, so I can't comment to much in detail. Since league can be very snowbally, playing from behind is an important skill (which I don't master). I do however think that if you fall behind, it is better to itemise defensively (especially as a jungler). And don't contest our blue, let them have it; Orianna had grail which is sufficient to waveclear mid. Bot lane went even in laning phase; we were all 0/0/0 and both adc farmed well. Lulu played well, and I hope that the lulu player can comment on my play (I forgot who it was). I felt both adc farmed and positioned well, but were passive; they had a mentally of 1) farm 2) don't die. I definitely feel both could have been a bit more aggressive, let me give some examples: - @ vayne, when trist goes for a lasthit on a ranged creep, you can trade with AA, tumble, AA, disengage. Since vayne moves fast (with her passive), you can easily get away with this trade. - @ trist; At lvl 7 or 8 we had a fight were vayne ult tumbled towards us. At that point you ultied away vayne and jumped away (even tough you still were close to full health). This is imo too defensive and cautious. In fact after the fight, both lulu and vayne were 1/3 - 1/4 health . If you still had your jump, we might have achieved something. We (trist+zyra) had a very slight edge in the start of the laning phase, but we threw that away by not backing simultaneously twice (or thrice, I dont remember). I personally missed a couple of skillshots in laning phase. I also think I shouldn't have bought philo stone since I already had gp10 quints. An additional ruby crystal might have swung the balance in our lane. I hope lulu can comment on my laning phase.

Vayne here. I was pretty damn scared since you guys forced us to b a couple of times due to how low we were. Which is why I really didn't want to go for trades til I had BoRK. Plus I still need to learn quite a bit on Vayne.
I thought you guys did really well but could have been more aggressive. Lulu and me got away with slivers of health a couple of times. I luckily did have some nice plays in the teamfights (a few nice condemn stuns), but I definitely wasn't carrying the game. Mid/Jungle both had some huge backs ^^.
The Lulu's ingame name was Prog btw.
|
Indeed, I was Lulu.
You did well botlane overall, so I have little to say about it. As you already noticed your backing was a bit off; - you sometimes missed the right timing to back simultaneously. That created a situation that Trist stayed too long in the lane and had a vamp scepter vs cutlass on vayne.
I also think you could have played a bit more offensive in the early levels. Trist/Zyra has huge damage potential lvl 2-4 in comparison to Vayne/Lulu, so maybe there could have been a chance to all-in there. If I remember correctly you had exhaust and not ignite, which I think is a mistake vs Teemo/Viktor/Vayne. We had no damage dealing diver that could be or needs to be exhausted in a teamfight and you can abuse the stronger early game with ignite a bit easier. With ignite some of those low hp escapes of ours may have been kills. Still I think you did well, these are just little things that could swing the lane a bit more into your favor.

To be honest, I feel this game came down to Aatrox and myself massively fucking up our lvl 4 dive onto Teemo. After Aatrox fend off Sejuani with great success, this was basically a free first blood, which by some magic of our terrible execution became 2 kills for you guys. Then Aatrox was a bit too behind to be there for Orianna against Viktor when the latter got a good power spike, Sejuani got tanky while Aatrox tried to finish his BorK, I couldn't farm efficiently and we fucked our team this way. Yeah, botlane couldve gotten a couple of kills early on, but they definitely didn't lose us the game, Trist and Zyra were pretty damn useful in teamfights !
