He is not saying he does not deserve his elo, he says his way of playing is bad and he needs to start all over - not to get a new fresh account to grind up elo, but to change his mind set and play better, change his champ pool, etc. When I was playing SC2, or even WC3, I had a high ranked accounts (high master in SC2, lvl 45 in WC3) but when I wanted to improve, I always took an account from a friend, or create a new one on WC3, and played a ton with no stress and completly fresh mindset. Helped a lot.

As long as you assume that the matchmaking does not have a grudge against you, if you are better then the elo you play in, you should eventually ascend. Can you prove me that the chance that there are feeders in your ranking team actually follow a normal law if you play enough game, and not a heavy tailed distribution ? How random is random really. Just trolling but I didn't see him saying that the elo system is good or bad, he was implying that the ranking system does not permit him to improve. When you are too tense about your play and your position in ranked, it's really hard to improve. It would actually better if people gave their perspective on what is the best way to improve in LOL because from my perspective it's way more difficult than in other games. I improved a lot going from Silver IV to Gold II in a few weeks playing a few number of champions. Then I hit a wall and now I'm back to sucking. I would actually take any advice on how to get better at this game.

From a watching and breaking down standpoint, I pretty much got it, but my mechanics and in-time game decisions need to be reworked completely. I jumped into ranked too soon, did average (5-5) and then just wasn't good enough to carry in low divisions and have fallen to a place where I'm not going to get better. Time to work up correctly. How is your plan to start over? It probably isn't just playing ranked again? How do you plan to work up correctly?

I would actually take any advice on how to get better at this game. I don't think any of that would be a problem, as long as you assume that the available players are randomly distributed into the two teams. This is pretty much the only necessary assumption for feeders to work to your benefit. However, come to think of it, there is a situation that would work and keep you lower then you deserve to be. What, if it is not feeders deciding games, but people who carry hard? If you are slightly better then your elo, but most of the games are decided by one guy smashing the enemy team hard. In that case the whole 4/9 probability thing would work against you. Of course this leads to problems like "why are those people even at this elo, and how did they arrive there without losing a lot of games beforehand?" Of course i have never seen someone claim this, but this would actually work if you have magically appearing good people at low elos.

Btw jungle darius sucks because you have less of a late game than your average top lane darius, and that is saying alot because he sucks late even being fed. He's kinda like pantheon, if you fail early, you surrender at 20. You have to get several early kills to be worth being on the team.

I would actually take any advice on how to get better at this game. What worked for me (In promotion to Diamond 3 right now), is playing with a very limited champion pool. It's like driving, once you know how to drive it works "automatically" and you can focus on the street instead of focusing on using the gear etc.. Also focus on one thing at a time. First thing would obviously be last hitting. At one point I just focussed on not dieng. I didn't took much risks, literally never died in lane and barely afterwards, but in the beginning didn't get much kills either. You learn pretty fast what you can do and what not without dieng, and you'll start to get alot of kills because you have so much up time. Another thing to focus on would be to always know what's going on on the map (mini map). (Unless you played BW) your laning will suffer quite a bit at first, but it's ok. If you know how to not die, you can play overaggressive for awhile to learn where the limits are. Plenty of stuff to learn/focus on. That worked decently for me at least.

It's true at the pro level, and it's even MORE true at the lower tiers. Many of us did it multiple times in Brood War or WC3 - swapped accounts to give us a soft reset while (well not everyone did this step but it's really important) using the reset to mentally refocus. There's probably something psychological about the clean slate that makes it easier to do.

i have an opportunity to play for a better team, but it's sorta contingent on me improving my mechanics (i play support). is there anyone who knows of a good/consistent way to improve one's mechanics? thanks! (you can also PM me)

http://www.gamespot.com/league-of-legends/videos/state-of-the-league-lcs-na-all-stars-special-6408559/ Gotta say that interview has got me really hyped for all-stars now. I don't even like the state of the leagues, but that was a good interview. NA seems pretty confident they will do well and I really want to see it happen. The more interesting thing though is how they all seem to be having more FUN in general with this team.
