They are a glorified e-sports personality team that have no intentions of winning the LCS in the next ten years. They're going to make all their money from their streams that will get thousands more viewers now because they want to see them lose.
If they had made a video based on reality, do you think anyone would give a shit? 'Oh, we're kinda decent players, and we're going to try our best to win amateur tournaments!' Fuck no, so they went on and said hyperbolic stuff like losing isn't an option and that millions of dollars are on the line. Their end game isn't winning LCS, but to get more and more people to tune into their streams and pay their revenue through that source.
The video was extremely cringe worthy, but it's working out beautifully for them. Five gold league players are now getting more attention than Korea did for destroying everyone at all-stars. Now anytime Team Siren wants to stream or play a showmatch, tons of nerds are going to make threads, watch the games, and then act like they "won" when Team Siren gets destroyed. But no one is giving them stream views; everyone too busy watching hotshotgg's stream shit talk sirens, and shitting all over them, or watching TOO's stream commentating it. Sirens are just a huge fucking meme at this point. (also my friend beat sirens in ranked 5 before they released that vid; hue)
Still gives them attention.

It seems like a really good item to me. Compare: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Spirit_VisageWith http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Banshee's_VeilSpririt Visage vs. Banshee's Veil Cost: 2220 vs. 2520 HP: 200 vs. 400 MR: 50 vs. 45 20% CDR vs. 300 Mana 20% Increased Healing vs. Spellshield The comparison is actually not as bad as I initially thought, depending on how much you value the spellshield (not that much on a tanky champ). 20% CDR is really quite good (and lategame mana fairly useless on most tanks). You could cap CDR with just 1 other item (usually). Also, the kindlegem is basically never wasted, whereas unless you are Ryze a midgame catalyst (around the time you realize you need a dedicated MR item besides Aegis) is fairly meh. And even Ryze does pretty damn well with the Spirit Visage, and just builds the Cata into an ROA.
Banshee also competes with Runic (2950G, 300 HP, 55 MR, 30 Armor, almost negligible health regen, and an absolutely 100% critical Aura when there are threatening sources of magic damage on the other team)

I'm saying, if you do an RP giveaway it gets you serious publicity. If you do a skin giveaway, its huge publicity. Those things are not just frontpage of /leagueoflegends, its the frontpage of all of reddit. You are saying to people, "Yes we are F2P, but that doesn't excuse us from having serious problems." It says, "We take care of our loyal customers."
Heck, its time that they had a promotional giveaway other than Unchained Ali and Riot Trist. Pick any of your 1350 champs (precedent) and make a skin like QQ Nasus, or Disconnect Jax and give it away.

That's because Erika was fucking awesome, and will always be remembered as the person who coached TPA to victory at the S2 Championship. Nobody from Siren, or likely any other girl, will ever be able to compete with that :p

You're asking them to give you real money for a f2p game because you had some server issues? That's asking entirely too much and not everyone has all the same champs/skins so giving away a skin/champ isn't a feasible option to compensate people. IP is the best choice. We're lucky they even do anything at all and actually give us free stuff. They don't need to up their PR because of a server issue, they are a known good company and they handle their problems well.

You are correct this is working out great for them. They are getting more stream views, a ton of video views, and tons of exposure to make money off of. Ironically, this situation isn't all that different to the North American LoL pro scene when compared to Asia. They still can't win a single game off of the Asian professional teams that take the game more seriously. The NA LoL work ethic is laughable compared to the rest of the world and their goal isn't even to be the best. Their main aim is to entertain viewers. Likewise this female team aims for making a living off of entertaining viewers. The players are still talented even if they aren't pro level and perhaps in time they can inspire female players to try to go pro. I am not particularly a fan of their team but I can appreciate their efforts in giving women some space in a male dominated work environment.

I'd rather get an IP boost rather than nothing or hell, even a skin, cuz skins don't really add anything to gameplay. And riot could just as easily have not give anything in compensation.

Also I think it's pretty insulting to say that NA pro teams aren't aiming to be the best. The infrastructure just isn't set up for them.
There are already great role models for female gamers (examples listed on top, with TPA manager/coach/sub, and some of the other teams).

There are already great role models for female gamers (examples listed on top, with TPA manager/coach/sub, and some of the other teams). You know what Siren needs? Skarlett(sp, don't pay too much attention to SC2) to whip them into shape.

From the PR standpoint its not gonna help them much. The people still playing in the EUW after these server issues aren't going anywhere no matter what. So you're saying they don't need to do anything at all since the people aren't going anywhere lol. So why not throw people a bone at least? I see no harm done and all it does is make some people happy. I'm saying, if you do an RP giveaway it gets you serious publicity. If you do a skin giveaway, its huge publicity. Those things are not just frontpage of /leagueoflegends, its the frontpage of all of reddit. You are saying to people, "Yes we are F2P, but that doesn't excuse us from having serious problems." It says, "We take care of our loyal customers." Heck, its time that they had a promotional giveaway other than Unchained Ali and Riot Trist. Pick any of your 1350 champs (precedent) and make a skin like QQ Nasus, or Disconnect Jax and give it away. Digging deep my friend. Digging deep.

#1. Obviously they make money off champion sales otherwise they would never do Champion Sales (price reductions). #2. Their "token" giveaway is not being seen in a vacuum. KR just got a really nice skin. Does anyone else remember the results of Ultimatum Game experiments? #3. As I pointed out, Riot is due for a promotional giveaway regardless of these server issues. They should announce a brand new and free skin on a common champ and pretend its for the recent issues.
You all are acting like rational people, if people acted like how you pretend they do, François Hollande would not be the President of France right now.

Support confirmed for most fun role. It's like playing a whole new game or like playing Singed. You can do whatever you want!

So true; also I've come to the realization that no one really know how to play against a bruiser support. The level 3-4 all in with ADC+bruiser is stronger than people think; especially if you position it out correctly.
