I assume it's based on your level of play. I just have standard armour/mr/ms runes and play every role so far around silver perfectly fine. I'd imagine as you get higher it becomes more important.

I'd say that Support is actually currently the very best role for carrying solo queue at all levels, especially lower ones because they have the worst supports by far.
Why do you feel like support is useless, exactly?
And dunno, I cannot think of 5 non-support pages that I would really need. I guess you can go with either a mage page or a tank page depending on the support.

Gp/10 quints are pretty useful when you're playing support in a ranked 5's setting. You can get away with not having them sometimes (they're not always the best), but as far as having a well rounded support page that gives you the best shot of winning, I would say it's fairly important. Otherwise you're going to tend to have fewer wards than someone who does have a support page. Then you're kind of screwed when they start being a bastard and pinking all your wards.
It's probably not as bad as it was last season due to the passive gold flow being increased, and sight stone helps a lot too. But personally, I always feel flat broke when I don't have them. :>
It also depends on the support a lot though. I wouldn't have a problem running my AD marks+quints/armor seals/mr per level gylphs on Sona for instance, which is the exact same page you would use as ADC. If you have a tanky AP/AD page, I wouldn't feel too terrible about using those. But there is a definitely a trade off.

I've had similar results, but it's not overwhelming. It's very annoying when every blob flies out towards your opponent and you can't pick them up, but you only need like 1-3 to get back a loooot of health.

O I am not saying a good support can't carry hence why thresh is banned so much. But in solo q I fine adc's to be the worst players even at plat on solo q. Maybe it's just bad experience but I feel like a good adc should adjust his play style to the supports not the other way around and in solo q I constantly get adc's who Think Bot is a dictatorship not a duo

For shorter periods of time, her AS steroid is just as good as yours (but yours can be maintained), while also giving a pretty reasonable amount of magic on-hit damage. Her Q hits about as hard as yours. Your base AS is worse than hers.
Furthermore, there's nothing huge that you can juke with your Arcane Shift, so you can't leverage your biggest advantage over her - mobility. You're also not leveraging your poking ability against her if you're fighting her straight up. Your best bet is to kite her with Q's and only hard engage when she's chunked down.

5.5sec 15% slow and a 7 second Liandry dot with 5.5 sec of it being double dmg for E, and ult with some beast DoT and slow(to help it stick to the target) for the duration.

Nick Allen seems to be a much better pick here for the job at least. He had quite a bit of experience for live events through IPL. It should be just a congratulations offered to Nick Allen than to focus on negatives with Marcou. Why use a decent announcement that's essentially a positive, and turn it into a generic bash?

On my smurf, support is terrible. I can be 1v2ing the lane, and when I've gotten both support and ADC to 50%, I allin the next time my CD's are up. I die after pinging, blowing flash and exhaust, and my ADC has gotten 3 more CS, with absolutely no followup or indication of knowing that he could have gotten a double kill.
Much better to play stuff like "support" leblanc, help your ADC CS by getting all the ones he'd miss, and also take all the kills.

I agree, I was looking for new runes to fill up the rune pages I bought on sale and was considering these until I saw the price. 1/4 of a rune page worth of runes for more than the most expensive champs? ouch!

Runes/masteries such as gp10 quints, utility tree etc. are required to play support, but it makes such a little difference that in 99% of all games you will not sit back and say "i lost cus of my runes/masteries".
Just make sure you get armor seals and mres glyphs, quints and marks can be whatever the fuck you want basicly.

No? It's the opposite. If you're low elo you gotta do some cheese shit like running mpen marks and 10% mpen from masteries. You're outplaying them anyways if u don't belong there lol.
