Yeah true, seeing Xin every game now :/ It's always been like this, though, even in season 2. People just didn't know. The only thing that changed with s3 is that he's even tankier, but he still could have gone full tank in season 2 and dealt the same amount of damage. (You could argue that the armor pen change helps him a little so this probably works better for early season 3 better)

Maybe it's just confirmation bias, idk, but it seems like both got way more reliable. I've been playing pretty much only Jarvan (except when Ares bans me >:o) and his ult got owned when Skarner ult got nerfed. Before if someone flash the instant you ulted you would follow them, but now you ult the space where they used to be and thus lock you and possibly your team away from them.
At least if they had to flash out of the actual ult you could follow with an EQ if CDs were up, but currently because of cast animations by the time you're done with casting ult they're so far away that you couldn't EQ anyways.
Also EQ sometimes doesn't knock up people that you travel right over and sometimes it knocks up guys no where close
Finally, sometimes Q pulls you to E even though it was nowhere near the flag (the flag's hitbox for Q seems to be better than the actual hitbox of the flag for dealing damage).

Startling realization: rammus with homeguard is kinda awesome. So awesome that it might actually be competitive at a high level. Probably strong for anti-poke comps.

I don't have any idea how the new League Points system works. I have played with a mate of mine that is in Gold I division on 2 different accounts. First time on my platinum V account, and then on my brother's gold V account. So basically 1 division apart.
We won both games. When we duo'd on my platinum I got +23 and he got +4. He needed 5 more LP so we duo'd again, this time from my Gold V account. We stomped this one even harder and he got his 4th win in a row, but he only earned 1 ( ONE SINGLE LEAGUE POINT) and I got +23. So the odds were pretty even between the teams. He has been playing mostly duo queue lately, maybe 80% of his games duo, 20% solo. And he's on a winning streak.
What is this new system? It seems an aberration of some sort. I can't seem to identify the factors that are not letting him progress on a +/- 20 points per game. I thought the system is fine because of the fact that setting goals is easier this way, but no way in hell am I gonna play to win 1 point and lose -20. That is just horrendously wrong. What is your experience with earning +1/+5 points ? And if you lose do you go -15 ?

you can actually do the same with jax with cdr but for some reason nobody ever does it they just go full retard with all damage items and still do okay because jax with E and R can still survive decently.
xin has more cc though, granted, and better engage, but jax has even better base damages and a better/more reliable tank steriod

I find it fairly laughable that I lose league points for dodging, but the guy who is making me dodge does not.
I'd be very happy if Riot started doing things like finding people who consistantly force others to dodge (they rounded up a bunch and handed out bans before) and dropping them a division or two.
There's all kinds of things they could do with league points that they aren't doing. If somebody disconnects from a game and forces a loss they could reduce the number of LP you lose, but they aren't doing that either. Or add a report function to champion select. Frankly every time I queue up and get a 5th pick who says something like "mid or I feed" I want to dodge. I have no problem playing 3 positions (basically anything except top lane), so I have zero sympathy for people who try to insist they play the same position every game. Or which happens almost as often that people just lock in a troll pick if they don't get the position they wanted. I don't flame, but players like that make me seriously question if it is worth it to play the game, because it's 90% certain we will loose. In all fairness, I have no idea how these problems can be fixed. At the end of the day almost everyone is an egoist on the internet, and if random chance throws you together with 4 people who want to play solo lane, something has got to give I just don't think punishing dodges when they are our "only" defense against absurd trolling during champion select is the right way to go.
Yes. I had to dodge my first game in Platinum V because of Nunu mid >.> It was my first dodge in months, I usually just like playing against the odds, unless it's really unbalanced towards late game. Started the new division with -10 -.- SUCKS!

not sure if your talking about jungle or top lane but its tough to get away with full tank jax top since he has no sustain where as xin does. if jungle, then yea

Yeah, I was trying stupid things on jungle jax like BotrK, but yeah, it's not very good. CDR+tank with Locket probably waaaay better.

In terms of raw dps, it wouldn't surprise me that jax > xin, but I feel like xin's is just so much more reliable, given that he sticks to people like glue. In almost every given situation, you can get your job done as xin, but I don't think you can say the same for jax.
imo, xin is really strong, and i'm actually surprised he hasn't seen significant face time in pro games. I think gauntlet really tipped him over the edge.

I don't think it's possible eg for Jax to one shot a squishy unless he's super fed like 3+ levels then them and has other items to help his burst like gunblade Bork.
The numbers don't agree but I've been one shotted many times by Xin and very few times by Jax.

Well he's acting as if iceborn xin is some kind of sick undiscovered synergy and while its not a terrible item in all my history of playing games and playing ixn i dont think ive ever seen one.
I mean you get an aoe slow which you already have, and you get a nice verison of the sheen proc but worse than the only slightly more expensive trinity, I can't hlep but feel like you're spending an awful lot too much on the slow ap and mana which you pretty much dont use well.
Iceborn jax, however, makes a lot more sense
the whole thing with max cdr xin is you have a 2-3 second E which is like a 2 second AoE slow and gapcloser with a 3.6 second 1 second knockup why the fuck do you need the strongest slow item in the game
also building jax with 7-8k worth of damage items because "you have no sustain in lane" is pretty shitty reasoning i'll take an extra health pot, thanks
|
And this is why I ban Xin.
Build no offensive items>still proceed to do plenty of damage. Not dealing with stupid shit like him.

and then we have amumu jarvan and vi good luck
