I find it fairly laughable that I lose league points for dodging, but the guy who is making me dodge does not.
I'd be very happy if Riot started doing things like finding people who consistantly force others to dodge (they rounded up a bunch and handed out bans before) and dropping them a division or two.
There's all kinds of things they could do with league points that they aren't doing. If somebody disconnects from a game and forces a loss they could reduce the number of LP you lose, but they aren't doing that either.
The more weird things you do, the more exploitable the system gets. I agree that there needs to be a way to report people who troll in champ select. And obviously the Post/Pregame chats should be available to the tribunal, too. I assume there is some sort of technical limitation as to why it isn't there already. But if you reduce the losses if someone dcs, what keeps people from dcing to reduce their losses?

Or add a report function to champion select.
Frankly every time I queue up and get a 5th pick who says something like "mid or I feed" I want to dodge. I have no problem playing 3 positions (basically anything except top lane), so I have zero sympathy for people who try to insist they play the same position every game.
Or which happens almost as often that people just lock in a troll pick if they don't get the position they wanted. I don't flame, but players like that make me seriously question if it is worth it to play the game, because it's 90% certain we will loose.
In all fairness, I have no idea how these problems can be fixed. At the end of the day almost everyone is an egoist on the internet, and if random chance throws you together with 4 people who want to play solo lane, something has got to give I just don't think punishing dodges when they are our "only" defense against absurd trolling during champion select is the right way to go.

The problem is you'd get an overwhelming number of false reports for people just playing unorthodox things that aren't (and shouldn't be) punishable.

Yeah.. ranked is already annoying enough, I get people yelling at me half the time when I try to play Nasus Jungle or J4 Support, even though both are just as good as other more commonly accepted champions in those roles. You shouldn't be punished for doing something a little unusual just because your team is narrow-minded.

I REALLY wish shit worked this way, but people don't understand thinking outside the box. Esp. low Elo, where "current meta" and "counters" and "op champs" are Gods. whaddyagunnadew?

In an effort to lose my placement matches I've actually been picking relatively unused champions in ranked and trying items that I never do, but I think can have merit, like Dorans in the jungle.

If half of that kit is true holy hell that's going to be a pain to deal with.

I don't understand how this works, but if supposedly Valor uses his abilities automatically then when you max rank Q he will push people back? What if you want to bait or something... This is gonna require some PBE before any conclusions are drawn but man.....

I am excited about it at least. Complex champions are fun to play with and I've got to guess they've worked out some way to manage valor's abilities or at least give you an idea when he will use them.

For those who are having trouble with AL's site loading, here's an image of the abilities.

Wow that kit looks amazing and complex. I'm not sure if you can manually toggle his Q or not (I hope you can), but I can see his W being super clutch.
Edit: I meant Valor's Q ability.

Because if you lose League Points and not Elo, you basically don't lose anything because your Elo being ahead of your League Points will cause your League Point gains to catch up anyway.
we knew before the system even came out that dodges are free now.

Wow if these are true they sound CRAZY good. I like how they are turning invisible skillshots into a feature hue. Need to see some ranges, but the ability to teleport to a marked Traitor sounds pretty strong.
