So many good items to build on Malphite now, I don't know what to pick XD.

Anyone having success with early boot upgrades? Furor seems like it could help snowball if you get an edge or just want to force trades, and I could see champs running TP/Flash getting distortion before late game. The one time I tried homeguard it was fun. Captain on initiators... I just don't know how "core" those upgrades are.

So Statikk Shiv is basically a cross between PD and Ionic Spark--except it's worse than Spark was at the one thing that you'd actually want to buy Shiv over PD for (farming ability).
Against champs, the fact that it does magic damage with no actual Magic Pen is going to hurt the item's usefulness as a real combat item. And it still shares Spark's problem of not having enough bounce range to farm smoothly, while actually charging up SLOWER than Spark in farming situations (Wiki says 10 charges per autoattack plus 1 more per 20 units moved--meaning that in lane farming situations you're going to take 5-8 autos to get a proc, as opposed to the 4 for Spark).

It bothers me that it now takes 10 hits to get the spark proc. It used to take only 5. It feels almost like a nerf to me, unless I missed something crucial here.

Anyone like Zephyr on ad carries? Tenacity + MS OP

I love the new ethrem noct opening music. But why would they do this when nami's is going to replace it later this week anyway?

The thing that bothers me is that they definitely got the picture with Tiamat but they missed it on Shiv--the item's stats aren't good enough to justify it based on pure combat ability (since overall the stats are weaker than PD). You have to use the AoE proc to take advantage of the item, and since the proc doesn't scale, it's practical usefulness is greatest for farming. Except they still haven't made the item practical for farming.

SS+Twitch+SotD+IE. Oh gawd, All that AoE, I'm just waiting for some op'd item combo to show up in a tournament, just so Riot will completely nerf it to the ground.
I think the most interesting new Item that's new in this s3 is zephyr. I feel it'll be underrated for a long time, until someone finds a good use for it.
Oh shiet, WoDx gunna try out WW+manamura next game after he does manamura Ez. It's so fun to watch all these new items being tried out by pros.

Interesting pokemon should be brought up, because pokemon used to have an extremely defensive metagame and each generation after gen 2 seemed to favor offense more than defense.
Kind of like how armor and MR got more expensive and AD got cheaper lol

This item seems really, REALLY good on Mordekaiser, or perhaps any other AP that does not have gap closers.

Zephyr overall feels "niche" to me . Lotsa good stuff, but then for everyone you look at other items and say "If I primarily want this, then that item's plain better". Kinda like triforce, except the mix of stats on triforce actually fits quite a lot of champs.

It seems awful on Mordekaiser. The item is most suited for ganks, because in teamfights you're very unlikely to actually get the spirits to target who you WANT to target--but in ganks other heroes will be far away//this can scout for counterganks. But Mordekaiser's ability as a ganking AP is quite poor. He's most powerful as a teamfighter/laner, and the item's usefulness in teamfights is limited for the targeting issue I mentioned.
You're never practically going to be able to use it as a gap closer in teamfights because the 2 spirits will pretty much always hit 2 frontline heroes unless theres some egregious positioning error.

I saw nhat finish it as a 4th/5th item on lulu.

The most awkward thing about the item is that it's best suited for ganks, so you want to finish it early--but it builds from gp10 which means you don't want to finish it early because you want the gp10 to pay off.
The item effect is useful, but they picked the absolute worst buildup for it.

Seems like Gosu Zuna is subbing for Dig in the prize fight. Just saw on WoDx stream FeaR asking Wings to sub coz Zuna said he would sub for Dig not knowing they had game.

So the new Black Cleaver is absolutely nuts on Corki

It's actually more of a laning item. You use to slow your lane opponent so you can play aggressive.
