It never closes Yeah I knew that (used to reopen it when chat during spectating was bugged and I wouldn't display what people told me, alt+tab to see it in the chat tab then alt+tab again to go back to watching). But what does the process do then, that you can close it without impeding the game in anything? | ||

PvP Client never actually closes when you go into a game and minimises into your system tray instead. You can actually alt-tab out of the game and re-open the PvP Client (where you can chat with people normally and stuff). Your main screen will simply say you're in a game, like the reconnect screen but without the reconnect button. So it actually eats a lot of memory that way. Esp problematic if it starts leaking memory... It does not particularly do anything clever and mainly handles the XMPP for chat purposes. The in-game client (which is different from the PvP Client, or the main one) is self-sufficient for the purpose of playing actually playing and alone handles the game-server communication unless they have made changes I am not aware of. (I will probably need to double check that this is the case with my seniors, but I am 90% certain) | ||
