The problem is that these two are basically as strong as Poppy in mid-lategame without any of the drawbacks.
Poppy has no waveclear ability, sustain or built in sticking power. Rengar has all of these while also having even stronger burst (midgame) and almost as good tankiness.
Lategame Poppy is stronger, but whats the point if Rengar is 90% of her lategame strength with better laning and better ganks?

from digibet "The 100% bonus up to 20 Euro applies only to customers living and residing in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg". does anyone happen to live there? PM me and we could work something out
odds are http://i.imgur.com/JTC6W.jpg as far as betting goes i'm thinking TPA and WE are both very attractive at 34 to 1 odds apiece and both being seeded into top 8 directly.

Looking at champion design going back, you need to get to volibear before you find a melee without a way of nearly instantaneously closing distance(Darius if you don't count being able to grab->slow as one). Bad because now every squishy needs an escape.
Also, the last 4 top's they've made(Khazix, Rengar, Jayce and Darius) happen to all be supremely viable, and surprisingly, I find Darius to be the least toxic as a top laner, mostly coming down to mobility, despite having high damage/snowballing. Jayce get's to be a ranged bruiser(really bad because now you have to give every top laner a gap closer AND the ability to outtrade him if you get into melee range(power creep)). Rengar gets free sustain that also does silly damage, along with burst. Oh and he has a built in cost efficient snowball item. Khazix gets to be super trist, with an essentially free auto-enhancer, and the cheapest jump in the game bar none. His W is the only spell which I'd consider to have a balanced mana cost because it's far too expensive to be maxing for either damage or sustain. Rengar and Khazix also have the ability to dive and combo a carry from out of nowhere, regardless of positioning.
Mostly this just comes down to me being mad that Riot thinks making champs that can do everything is a good idea but the induced power creep is incredibly toxic. Doesn't make just top lane terrible, but it also makes every other lane bad because then they have to introduce champions that can deal with it, and older champs just get phased out of existence/popularity.

Wow, Asian teams rated very low compared to the NA teams. TSM and CLG.na so high?

Pantheon and Talon as assassin are vastly outclassed by the new champs, even Jayce bursts way harder. They also have longer cooldowns, far greater mana costs, no sustain nor defensive steroids (I used to think Panth's passive was super good during the laning phase, but there's so much stupid shit, aa resets or huge scaling on skills now that its worth plummeted), and no mobility. They can jump in, but they have no way to get out (Talon's way to get out is "pray that my ult will kill them because I can't stick in once it runs off", and Panth's ult can't be used to flee outside of laning phase or no cc teams).
Panth used to suffer from either very high sustain champs (WW with armor and smart use of Q, Malphite managing his shield right, Cho'Gath), and only very few champs could fight him 1v1 in the first levels (somebody stated that Fiora's level 1 is stronger, Volibear's passive will make him win if you don't harass enough beforehand, Darius prob destroys him because of his passive). Now he doesn't stand a chance against those 3, not even close.
Can't speak for Akali, even though it's obvious that Diana's stronger, with a better pre-6 phase, better escapes since Q brieffly gives vision of what you hit while Akali would need to use a ward, and her E is basically useless while Diana's got one of the best cc in the game with hers, and a shield. Not even talking about base stats.
As a Pantheon and Talon lover, I'm annoyed to see the way Riot destroy their previous assassins because they don't seem able to design anything out of the jungle that doesn't get filled with flaws. :/ I'd wish they take a closer look at which "cool" mechanics they can use for a jungler, that don't immediatly become toxic when you send them top lane (though Kha'Zix Q (manacost, cd, damage) and the range on his evolved E are much more toxic than his passive I think).
|
To be honest I dont really feel that weak on Talon, but I do get what you're saying on Panth and Akali.
|
I think Kha'Zix is fine, he needs to be fed to be both, tanky and damaging, and same can be said about a lot of other champs. Sure, he is strong, but not as strong as the other newer champs. Jayce and Rengar are imo the strongest champions, Rengar is just... stupid.

I'm just sick of things that can jump on me and instagib me, and jump right out (kat, rengar, kha'zix)

I see Talon as a champ that just goes mid to counter skill shot reliant APs. Some teams compositions can get away with having an AD mid, you just need a Taric or Corki bottom +1 other source of Armour shred. The second source can come from Wukong/J4 etc. top lane, or a Shyvanna in the jungle. With the silence gap closer from Talon he should be able to get on the guy who's shredded and take him out of the fight quickly. Then you just get your AP damage from the jungle or top.
Is it just me or does Corki seem to outclass all the AD carrys right now? Certain ADs may be able to fill a niche that he can't, (Varus/Ashe come to mind with their ultimates for team fights)or do a little more damage, Kog/Vayne (those w steriods), but as far as an over all well rounded kit I don't see any of the others being close to as good as his.

On Corki I mostly wouldnt mind if they reduced the distance of his Valkyri a bit. It's such a long engage or disengage at the moment.

Maybe I'm just a baddie, but I haven't been able to do super well with bug top just yet. Maybe he just doesn't do well vs. Darius. Probably I'm just bad. Are people building him standard DBlades into BT into more kill stuff? Also, I just miss with his AA all the time. Jungling with him was good though. Jump ganks fun.

Also Kat is way more squishy than those two. Kat and Diana with DFG (for the cdr) and hourglass can lead to fun jukes though. Maybe it's because I didn't play that much against her (and not top, only mid) but Diana doesn't really annoy me, apart from the fact that she's basically a better version of several champs, making them kinda obsolete. :/

do you really see TPA or WE winning more than once in 34 attempts? against THAT competition?

WE might.
TPA... no chance.

Considering neither of them have to go through group stages, yes. That is at least a 1000 times smarter bet than going for the 8:1 CLG.na bet.

I think CLG.eu give you the best odds compared to chance they have.

I think rushing a GA on the ADC may end up being the new meta at this rate. Or maybe the meta will change to just 5 bruisers or something.

Took me like half a game to realize his Q isnt an on attack effect and is actually a targeted spell -_-.

I'm always getting GA after Triforce/BT on Corki/Ez and BT/PD on Graves. Always. And it has worked out really well for me.
