Eh? That's very odd. At the very least, they should be able to offer to give you a Runepage and manually deduct the cost of what a single Rune Page would normally have costed even if the Player Support Rep doesn't feel like giving you a discount (based on the new curent price).

It is very hard to "fail ban". Depending on elo range, there are about 10 "must ban" champions, plus a lot of actually more reasonable bans. Thus, you can always complain that the firstpick "did not ban xyz, lost", which is obviously bullshit btw. There are no champions where you autolose when the enemy firstpicks them. I don't think you realize quite how stupid people are. At the moment, this manifests as people trolling whenever something they don't like happens, and thus hoping to force someone else to dodge.
If you have a ban system in place, it will manifest as 4 people teaming up and banning one scapegoat whenever they don't like something. If there is no further penalty for getting banned, it would be even more stupid, because it then just gives you free dodges. If there is a penalty, it would suck to be the guy that gets banned because your team got outpicked. But of course, the system at the moment is not ideal, either.
Considering im in a game atm with 2 mids and 2 bot carries i really really wish Riot would do something to fix the amount of trolls running around at low elo
I wouldnt even mind dodging them if i just had a damn report button for them without having to go through 20min (often more) of pure agony just to get to the end game screen
And then you have 100% of the games where anything happens in team selection that someone does not like ending up with one guy getting banned. If there is no penalty for banning people, why risk losing elo when you can just ban some dude you don't know and will never meet again.
In my opinion, the best way to solve this is to allow tribunal cases for a game once picking starts, and show all post and pregame chat, the order in which the picks happened inclusive changes people did, summoner spell choice and generally more useful information. The reason people do that shit atm is because they know that noone can report them as long as the game does not start, so if you don't like something, better try to make someone else dodge then dodge yourself and take the 30 min penalty.

That's not true. I've won plenty of games with trolls/afkers, mostly because the other team had a bigger troll/afker. You still probably lose 80% of them though

I'm pretty posittive they should be able to do this.
It's one of those things where I didn't ask for it because I'd feel bad doing so. Obviously it was a loophole that needs to be fixed for cases like mine, or anybody with odd pages atm, so I'd figure they'd change it eventually. Not that I'm against getting a free/reduced cost rune page, but its not in my character to ask for one in light of it.
Ofc people leaving/reporting whatever for something unorthedox isnt good but despite playing since a bit before the start of season 1 im getting more and more tired of even playing a single game of LoL because of the amount of stupidity that gets thrown around. As a ~1300 player your living in a true cesspit of the internet.
so after downloading the patch, my featured games are fucked, I can't see the portraits just the player names, can't watch new champ games like I normally do release day
