there are certain reasons why other melee mids work, and most of them revolve around the threat of losing trades, which naut really does not have unless they walk up to your melee range. | ||

Like say Zyra, Orianna, Gragas, Anivia, Ryze, Viktor, Veigar etc. Not to say that Nautilus mid doesn't work, I honestly have no idea it might be really good, merely his damage doesn't scale super well. I mean, I guess it doesn't to because he has so much CC in his kit and is pretty good at tanking/bruising naturally, but in a typical teamcomp this role makes more sense from the jungle because he does his job of peeling just as well with or without farm, so might as well do it from a position where you don't get farm such as jungling. Then you can have a less farmed nautilus peeling (well, regardless of the fact that he lacks gold) for an AP carry that can devestate teams with nukes and AoE abilities instead of a farmed Naut peeling for a less farmed jungle assassin. | ||
