Basically, Lux got slightly ahead vs Ryze because of a first blood given out by enemy Maokai (picked up by friendly Skarnar, so Lux only got assist). After that, Maokai got really behind because Lux would counterjungle him from the river by sniping him or his jungle camps with her ultimate.

Hmm...sounds like Xerath is goin to be even more obsolete with Lux challenging his role as tower sieger/long range insta-gibber? I really wish some pro team would pick up Xerath but maybe there's just too many better/comparable options.

RapidStar only played 10 games of Diana previous to this in Normals and only a few Lux games prior to their match v Blaze.
Ridonkulous.

Then you just have the teamfighting, which wasn't really about Diana specifically (We could have seen that happening with Orianna as the AP instead) but more about a teamcomp that gelled together very well and holy shit the dives. Holy shit the dives.
Seriously. Malphite, Nocturne, Diana, Alistar. That tower is NOT going to save you. That frontline is NOT going to be able to peel for you.

Rapidstar just saying like "since I can use the pew pew laser every 24 seconds with 40% CDR, I just used it when I felt like using it. Some were bound to hit sooner or later."

Lux is better when you need mobility.
Although if you've ever seen Chauster Xerath it's pretty silly.

and the MVP for the last game is... CloudTemplar!!

CloudTemplar deserved that MVP. His jungling has been SO powerful this entire series.

It's pretty sick what he can do. But it just seems that at every turn Xerath gets outshined by something. First it was AP Kog, then Ori for a very short while, now Lux(?) Xerath has the hard stun, but Lux can do just as well with a binding for seiging purposes. From that range, there's not much difference since they can't really retaliate anyways. Lux's ulti is also shorter cd iirc. Not to mention Lux arguably has better utility with her shield.
Iunno I really want to see Xerath play but it never happens :'[

Great series, last game snowballed a bit too much but it was beautiful on its own way. Overall I agree with the casters, Frost played a bit better today.
From what Torch was saying in the end, what was said here about top finish qualifying for s2 finals and s3 championship is wrong. From what I understood circuit points exist and for Frost to surpass Blaze to get that #1 spot they will have to win the final no matter the opponent. Otherwise Blaze will be #1 due to the Spring tournament win.
Personally this sounds much more fair to me and it's on par with the rest of the s2 finals qualifications throughout the world where they promoted the circuit point system where the teams that did the best over the course of months qualified and not teams that were good just in the end of the season.

but since CLG.eu is playing in this tournament, do they also get the points? It seems a bit unfair that team from other continents can play in other continents tournaments and earn the points :/
|
CLG.eu is currently competing in the EU Regional Qualifiers at IEM Gamescom. Even if the OGN tournament gave them points, the EU Regionals would already be over haha.

There's a lot more crossover in the NA/EU scene, don't they get circuit points for events that include both NA and EU teams? If so, it happens all the time. In this case though, CLG EU already had enough points anyway.

I don't think OGN is a sanctioned Season 2 Circuit tournament. That said, any team that participates in said tournaments, gets points for placing. It might seem unfair that only some teams get to travel and get the opportunity to play in these tourneys but you have to realize that most of these teams are "pro", so they should be able to travel if they really want it.

From what I heard, only Korean teams are allowed to gain Circuit points from the OGN tournies.

It also says: "The Champions Summer, along with The Champions Spring, NLB Spring 2012, and NLB Summer 2012, will award Circuit Points to determine two Korean teams to participate in Season 2 World Championship."
and it cites as a source a page in korean I can't comprehend: http://www.thisisgame.com/board/view.php?id=1176993&category=102
In the season 2 finals announcement there's this pic http://riot-web-static.s3.amazonaws.com/images/news/May_2012/LOL_infographic_r1.jpg which indicates a qualifier event in Korea organized by OGN.
All in all, I think it's what Torch said, 1st team in circuit points and the team that wins the event September 21.
edit: Found the circuit points in leaguepedia too:

The European circuit is already at the Regional finals, that's what the points were for and it would help them with absolutely nothing after the regionals. Same thing goes for WE and SGS that played at IPL Face-off where NA teams got points.
As for Korea, this is the current ranking. 1st place qualifies directly to the S2 Championship, 2nd to 4th place play for the other spot on 12-21 September.
Edit: More information here about the exct dates and times of the qualifier matches.

From what I understand, OGN will give points toward a bigger tournament right? (That will feature teams from NA, EU and Asia). So now, OGN is supposed to be kind of a qualifier for Korea for that big tournament? If yes, why are there NA + EU teams competing in it?
EDIT : It would appear only Korean teams can earn points... But my question still remains : Why are European + American or chinese teams allowed to participate, since they can't earn the points? I mean, they could prevent other teams from Korea to have a shot in getting the points to qualify. Theorically, we could have a NA only tournament, that feature 11 foreign team + 1 NA team... how do you distribute Circuit points? (not sure if my idea is expressed correctly)
