Welcome to the General Discussion thread for the League of Legends subforum. Free feel to talk about anything LoL related here that does not already have its own thread. While posting standard tend to be rather lax in this thread, pointless spam will not be tolerate.

The newest champion for this patch is Shyvana, the Half-Dragon.

Patch 1.0.0.128: Live on Nov 1st, 2011
+ Show Spoiler +
League of Legends v1.0.0.128
Shyvana, the Half-Dragon

Twin Bite
Shyvana strikes twice on her next attack. Both attacks trigger On-Hit effects and Fury of the Dragonborn effects.
Dragon Form: Twin Bite cleaves all units in front of Shyvana.
Burnout
Shyvana deals magic damage per second to nearby enemies and her Movement Speed is greatly increased for 3 seconds. Shyvana's Movement Speed bonus is reduced over time.
Dragon Form: Burnout scorches the earth, continuing to damage enemies that stand on it.
Flame Breath
Shyvana unleashes a fireball that deals magic damage and melts the target's Armor for 4 seconds.
Dragon Form: Flame Breath engulfs all units in a cone in front of Shyvana.
Dragon's Descent (Ultimate)
Active: Shyvana transforms into a dragon and takes flight to a target location. Enemies along her path take magic damage and are knocked toward her target location.
Passive: Shyvana reinforces her scales, increasing her Armor and Magic Resist. Defensive bonuses are doubled in Dragon Form.
Fury of the Dragonborn (Passive)
Shyvana's melee attacks enhance her abilities.
Twin Bite - Reduces the cooldown by 0.5 seconds.
Burnout - Extends the duration by 1 second to a maximum of 6 seconds.
Flame Breath - Deals 20% of the ability's damage to debuffed targets.
Dragon's Descent - Attacks generate 2 Fury and Shyvana passively gains Fury over time while in human form.

Amumu

Attack range increased to 125 from 100

Caitlyn

Piltover Peacemaker base damage reduced to 20/60/100/140/180 from 20/65/110/155/200
Yordle Snap Trap activation radius reduced to 135 from 150

Graves

True Grit
Buff duration reduced to 3 seconds from 4
Armor and magic resistance per stack reduced to 3 from 4 at max level
Buckshot damage per additional missile reduced to 30% from 35%

Olaf

Undertow missile speed increased to 1600 from 1500
Ragnarok
Now breaks crowd control effects upon activation

Fixed a bug that caused Ki Shout and Broken Wings to temporarily leave dead unpathable minions behind.
Fixed a bug that caused Riven's collision radius to be improperly calculated.

Shaco

Rewrote his Deceive, Hallucinate, and Champion tips for more clarity
Deceive will now still critically strike even if you break stealth (ie: to cast Jack in the Box)
Jack in the Box
Base damage reduced to 35/50/65/80/95 from 35/55/75/95/115
Ability power ratio reduced to 0.2 from 0.25
Activation range reduced to 300 from 350
Cast range increased to 425 from 400
Hallucinate
Fixed a bug where Shaco's clone wouldn't trigger Two-Shiv Poison's passive

Talon

Rake mana cost increased to 60/65/70/75/80 from 45/50/55/60/65
Shadow Assault cooldown increased to 75/65/55 seconds from 60/50/40

Wukong

Crushing Blow
Total attack damage ratio increased to 1.1 from 1.0
Fixed a bug where Crushing Blow did not display critical strikes or benefit from life steal
Decoy
Casting Decoy no longer instantly shows a reduction in Wukong's mana bar to enemies
Fixed a bug where Wukong's stealth state did not ignore unit collision
Improved general Decoy behavior and placement - the Decoy should now more accurately mimic Wukong's previous position and behavior
Wukong is now pushed forward slightly when using Decoy, rather than the Decoy being pushed back from Wukong's position
Nimbus Strike
Attack speed bonus increased to 30/35/40/45/50% from 20/25/30/35/40%
Attack speed duration increased to 4 seconds from 3

Garrison has been changed to be an untargeted spell, similar to Promote. It will only become castable when in range of an eligible Capture Point.
Fixed the channel time display for capturing the central runes to match the actual capture time. The actual time to capture is unchanged.
Fixed a bug where capture points could be moved off of their platforms
Fixed a crash when audio was disabled

So being worried about overbuffing olaf stems from 100 speed on his q and a nerfed ultimate?

I like the Caitlyn nerfs but she already seems to be falling out of popularity just a bit. Like, a lot of top players seem to not like how weak her late game is. I don't think the Graves nerfs go far enough.

Wanted to reply to something from old patch thread but don't want it to dominate this one. So I'll spoiler it and stuff.

I'm actually thinking about how Brood War worked and it's my opinion that a lot of their success came from the standardizing of their rules between tournaments due to KeSPA. It gave the scene a lot of professionalism because OSL/MSL while having slightly different formats still had to abide by KeSPA rules. Laying out formats that actually make sense in tournaments and that are consistent is needed desperately in the LoL competitive scene. For all the shit KeSPA gets (and rightfully so in many cases) they are a large reason why Brood War was taken seriously.
ok i don't know how familiar you are with BW and kespa but from reading what you said it seems that you aren't. first off, there is no equivalent to kespa in the LoL scene. kespa's board consists of staffer from various proteams (aka direct community involvement). there is no established set of proteams so such a board is impossible for riot. i guess the closest thing would be the Council (loL). just ask Neo how much say they have in the overall decision making process.

even then kespa has made consistently retarded decisions that were detrimental to the growth of starcraft/esports. like how did the BW free agency system benefit players and fans? how did contractual disputes with Blizzard impact the confidence of outside investors and prospective players? what rules not inherent to the game were made and implemented by kespa so that brood war increased in 'legitimacy'?

As I said in the paragraph you left out, due to LoL having a multi-national scene and the way it's set up we could create a set of rules without having the bad parts of KeSPA. Rather than a big entity with government ties controlling everything it could simply be a set of rules that tournament organizers agree to abide by. I wasn't trying to imply we copy/paste KeSPA into LoL cause that'd be an awful idea. Rather, I'd like to see competitive LoL bring in a set of rules that's consistent throughout all tournaments so that this WCG event can be the last time we have to hear about bullshit rules or bullshit rule changes. I am not by any means a fan of KeSPA but I do think that having some semblance of consistency helped legitimize the Brood War scene and would help legitimize the LoL scene.

Even rules as simple as, "Don't type in-game chat unless it's relevant to the game," would do wonders. It'd be a lot better if players only typed "pause" or "gg" instead of having Phreak or Zenon or whoever have to hide the chat every game.
what a great example of how ridiculous rules ruin gameplay. do you realize that this was one of the greatest controversies ever to face starcraft? if not please read this. tl;dr kespa made a rule to ban anything other than saying 'gg' to forfeit and it resulted in a number of disqualifications of winning players. it had the entire community up in arms.

I don't think it should be as strict as what KeSPA did. I don't think we should see instances like when Nal_rA got DQ'd at the very start of a match for pausing. But having a rule that's simply, "Keep in-game chat relevant to the game," with a caveat of not using offensive speech (racist words, curse words, whatever) would legitimize the pro scene a lot. Maybe even have it be a thing where you get a warning if you do it once and if only if you do it again do you get DQ'd. The reason they hide the chat is because it's not uncommon for them to type "fuck" or racial slurs in the middle of matches. Why should that be allowed to fly? The idea behind that rule isn't bad, the way KeSPA handled it was.

made him more accessible to bad olafs but huge nerfs for people that actually play him. We didn't need a CC break cause we press R on instinct when we know were about to get hit by cc. So yea just a nerf yawn. wonder when ill get to finally play him again.

I dunno. IMO 2 seconds off duration is worse than the ability to break stuns, mostly because I always just popped that shit before fights started.

Does it make it easier to use? Definitely. Better? Im not as sure.

I thought Shaco was being buffed? This seems like nerfs which is alright imo. The buff according to the patch preview was that it would activate faster which wasn't included in the patch notes. The only buff listed was an increased cast range, the ap ratio nerf was talked about in the preview.

I dunno that's what I thought but we'll see. Maybe not.

A little more movespeed a little more slow on his Q is all he really needs I think.

The free crit staying if you break stealth to drop a box is pretty big imo. Much more freedom in box placement without losing that burst.

They changed their mind. Someone posted a link to a Riot employee (I believe Phreak) talking about it. But yeah, it seems like more of a nerf which is okay with me.

And maybe it's just me but I swear I got this bug all the time:

Popping it before fights was the problem with the skill though. A team could just disengage and wait for your ult to wear off then reengage the fight when you're suddenly significantly less of a threat. Now you either get free reign on their carry, which is never a good idea, or you FORCE them to waste CC on you which you then cleanse and enjoy 6 seconds of immunity to, but never have to risk wasting your ult by activating it and them running away.

Is it slightly worse in unorganized play where teams aren't really good enough to back off when you pop it early? Of course, but in organized, competitive play, I think this is a much more significant buff then you're giving credit for.

In most situations it's a buff for Olaf. The problem is it doesn't fix anything. His problem has always been an excessive reliance on ghost or some external haste buff.

And now they can toss a cheap stun at you, make you pop your ult, disengage for a SHORTER time, then come back. It doesnt solve anything besides making olaf easier for people who cant recognize and react to initiation.
