By that I mean champs like offensive support Ashe, support Yorick, support Nunu to an extent, and other champs strong in harassment (even like a Cass or Caitlyn I suppose, although they lack the utility later on). Yorick, in particular, destroys sustain based bot lanes like Soraka and Sona combinations, and has decent sustain to remain in lane and has passable CC and a decent ult. Ashe has great utility at all stages of the game but is rather squishy herself though. The mentality is to zone out the opposing duo while controlling the creep wave as long as possible to deny as much exp and farm as possible. Eventually, the wave will push and the opposing carry will get some farm under the tower but that's no worse a result than what a traditional bot lane can expect anyway. So far from my experience, offensive supports have been working better than sustain-based supports.

I also agree that Karthus free week is one of the most miserable weeks in LoL.

So far from my experience, offensive supports have been working better than sustain-based supports. The thing is, many of the traditional supports like Soraka, Alistar, and Taric are capable of playing very offensively when the matchup calls for it. The reverse is not true of support Ashe/Yorick/Nunu--who cannot suddenly rotate into being defensive sustain supports if it's a matchup they can't risk going aggressive in.

I think his ult might be the most amusing spell in the game, especially when it's unexpected from the jungle into a lane. There are far more fun skills that secret malph ult. Just try baiting opponent over several teem shrooms, or mandrop, or demacian justice. IMO imo

I think his ult might be the most amusing spell in the game, especially when it's unexpected from the jungle into a lane. Back in beta and at release, he was one of the best junglers with warwick, mumu, and fiddle. But with so many new champions, he got sort of drowned out. In the last 3 months that I have started playing again, I have only seen him in one of my games, and I haven't gone back to play him yet. He would seem like a good counter to teams that are heavy AD. Slap a randiun's on him, and chained with his E, he could have everyone attacking and moving quite slow for a good chunk of time. Atmogs would be exceptionally strong on him as well. If you force a fight in a cramped spot on the map, having a malphite standing in front dealing splash damage would work out great. His ulti gives him pretty damn good initiate, and goes very well with a dive-heavy team. The fact that you can't stop him once his ulti has gone off can make for some cool plays to block incoming CC's. He is a good chaser with his Q, and is also very good in group fights. He has the most burst damage of any tanky bruiser that I can think of, and most of it splashes. I think, though, that he is a very situational champion. A team that is magic damage heavy will eat him alive, since he scales primarily on armor. Save him for a late pick against a team with heavy AD. I think he still has potential to make a comeback.
