Amumu used to be perma ban on EU, and is occassionally banned still. He makes straight up 5v5 teamfights very, very easy for the amumu player's team to win compared to the other team which has to play very carefully.

Whether you’ve recently signed up to play League of Legends or you are a veteran player and you’ve tried to purchase a name change, you may have needed an extremely active imagination to register a summoner name on your first try. We know how frustrating it can be unable to secure your preferred nickname, and we want to help! It’s come to our attention that there are a great many names out there that belong to summoners that have yet to log in and play a matchmade game. So, in response to player feedback, we’d like to free up these inactive summoner names so that they’re available for players that are ready to use them immediately. So, if you had previously claimed a summoner name and would like to keep it, all you have to do is log in and play at least one matchmade game before midnight on Sunday the 30th of October. If you haven’t managed to make a showing of ownership by then, we will free up the name for those who are either just now registering or those would like to change their name. If you have registered an account that is in danger of losing its summoner name, you will receive an email notifying you of your responsibility to log in and play a matchmade game in the next few days. Once you have played at least one matchmade game on your account, the summoner name in question will be yours to keep. If you have already played your matchmade game at the time you receive your email, don’t worry! We’re still keeping track of your games; it just takes some time to send that many emails! We’re looking forward to seeing you in game!

Also interesting to see Akali played twice and Singed never played while they are permabanned at my ELO.

EDIT to answer NinjaOfShadow, if you've played ANY matchmaking games at all your account isn't in danger (e.g., if you are level 2).

It seems pretty clear to me. There are a ton of accounts currently that have 0 games played on them. So if no games are played on them by Oct 31st they will be freed up.

They should implement something about name changes - like if you change your name then your old name is secured for only your account to be able to change back to for like 2 months or something. I'm scared of making an impulse name change decision... actually I'm not because I dnot' have money but if I wanted to change my name I would be too scared. Did the invite to game text change for anyone else

Also interesting to see Akali played twice and Singed never played while they are permabanned at my ELO. That's because Ryze is a targeted ban. It was only banned versus Dignitas and Curse because they have incredible Ryze players. Just like Akali was only banned four times because if your team doesn't have a known Akali player, chances are nobody is going to play akali. She just isn't a champion you can pick up and play at tournament level. I doubt any champion is for that matter which is why we aren't seeing wukong even though many teams have expressed interest in fielding him. I was most interested in the fall of Caitlyn personally. At china, Caitlyn was played 6 times with a 100% win rate and banned 8 times. This IEM she was banned only once and had a pathetic 33% win rate. It appears people figured out how to play Kog'Maw properly since him and Caitlyn nearly switched statistics (minus Kog'Maw being the most banned champions in the pool at both events). Kog'Maw might not have had 100% winrate in NewYork, but the games Kog'Maw lost were because of huge errors in the player of Kog'Maw in my opinion.

Been having fun playing Anivia this week. I've gotten into the habit of starting cata/tear/RoA/deathcap with boots somewhere along the way and eventually building into void staff/archangels. I've facerolled for my last few games, but I was generally up against bads so I'm wondering if there's a better way to build her.
