Bought Trundle only to have a jungle just in case (and to not have to learn one, since I tried him some weeks before). When Singed or Galio were free I found myself being tank like 2/3 of my games, now that I've got a jungler I think I'd play him a good half if I never went "screw it, I'll play the champ I want this time".
I don't dislike it per see, but I like to switch up roles a bit (should buy some support, but Sona's never free to try... ) and always being stuck at roles nobody wants to play is annoying in the end. I like my Morgana midstomp from time to time too. At least now I buy several wards on each trip back.

At the start I played her mostly AP carry, but tried her as support yesterday in inhouse game. She has a bit less utility than Janna (Janna's tornado is great and her ult is quite good), but she has a little heal quite easily avaliable, and she has way more burst without items.

trundle is just as much a tank as singed and galio. melees are generally tanks, except they have really high burst that allows you to kill stuff in 1 combo (gragas, garen come to mind).
The only way your not gonna play all the different roles/lanes is when you play premade 5's. I dont like ranged AD carries for example but when I have to I play them for the greater good -.- (even though I know there are other options to play bottom, I'am not into what happens in the chat when I pick sth else for there).

Mastery freeze bug is back.

Whats the mastery freeze bug?
|
the bane of anyone who does masteries before picking chars You do masteries too fast or something, and suddenly, the mastery display stops updating. You can still change them, but it doesn't actually show. Worse, you can't pick/change/lock in a champion, trade champs in draft, or swap runepage or summoners. Also after the game (which hopefully wasn't hardrandom with mismatched runes, masteries and summoners) you have to restart client to do anything.

1) Are you clicking or using mouse scroll wheel? 2) What OS are you using? (Windows XP, Vista, 7, etc.) 3) How much ping do you normally have? (Want to check if this is a latency based thing) 4) What are the specs of your computer? (Just GHz, RAM, Video Card) 5) Anything else that seems relevant? (e.g. When playing certain champion, or when timer is at 5 seconds or less, etc.)

Honestly most of the time people complain about the jungler the jungler was actually at fault. However most of the time it's totally ludicrous to assume the jungler is some god with perfect decision making and total map awareness that he always know when you need help in lane and he's pushing but will continue pushing and won't ward.
If you get blamed a lot as a jungler you probably need to gank a bit more. And not one of those junglers who just ganks so they can get kills, it's about ganking people who need to be ganked. People pushing or generally playing agressive and shutting down the other laners need to be slapped by a good jungler. Oracles and pink wards are often necessary though.
|
Usually what happens is that all lanes fail simultaneously and complaing that I'm not ganking enough. Thing is, you can't guarantee a kill on every gank so if you run between lanes non-stop you fall behind so much that you're a non-factor forever. Obivously, this is slightly exaggerated but usually people expect ganks at unreasonable times in about 50% of the cases.
And that's not just when I'm jungling, I've had games where I'm laning vs Yorick, our jungler ganks him, we get a kill. All good, but meanwhile our bot lane overextends, gets ganked and dies. Who's at fault? Our jungler of course, because he doesn't ever gank.
Of course, junglers aren't perfect, no one is. But I rarely see junglers ragging on their teammates for not last hitting properly, etc.

i dont know man, every time i play shaco for example and make the enemy play passive by 3 min double buff gank, my team takes that as a sign to push as hard as they possibly can in all lanes. They also seem to think that the jungler is the one who has to initiate a gank and they join 5 seconds later when the enemy is running.

So I stayed up till 3:30 watching the CLG/TSM scrim games, despite having to get up at 7:30 and drive for 2 hours to get to work (BTW- apologies to whoever I play with tonight, I'm probably gonna be a little bit of an asshole. I got 2 more hours in the car to go) and clg was having quite a bit of trouble with dealing with counterjungling. Apparently, given the amount Saint was yelling about it, the key to preventing 99% of counterjungling is to just get a ward and drop it at the top entrance to the red side of the jungle. Warding that enables you to see whenever the enemy jungle enters your side (the other entrance will be warded as well, either by top or bot) and then just being active on the minimap should allow you to either pick off the jungle, or at the very least not walk into a trap.
|
If they get ganked because they pushed it's their own fault, however, usually someone gets ganked and the other team pushes hard and you don't gank their lane.
Most of the time I find myself not ganking enough it's because my few ganks were not that sucessful and I want to keep farming but usually you should sacrifice farm to gank if they are overextending.
It's very easy to not have any useful ganks considering how farming the jungle camps usually puts you out of position to get good ganks on the right lanes.
|
Dunno, even if you're positioned correctly, I find ganking middle very hard with practically anything that I own. Usual scenario is my mid dies, the other one pushes the wave, fucks off to buy, then kinda keeps the creeps in the middle, killing my player whenever he can. Unless I happen to be in the brush specifically when the other guy is trying to kill my teammate, pulling off a gank is quite hard.
|
Most mids these days have some kind of cc, annie, brand, morg, KENNEN, ect. Ganking mid isnt so much about dealing half of the damage to the enemy, but rather waiting for the cc and simply applying enough damage for the kill to happen. Most of the time an ap carry can almost-but-not-quite get a kill on their own with their burst, so all a jungle needs to do is provide that last little bit.

(e.g. When playing certain champion, or when timer is at 5 seconds or less, etc.) Well uh I don't know if anyone else had it recently, and I only had it once so far. It behaves slightly differently than before too: I was able to actually close the mastery window afterwards, but the timer had stopped at 55 sec. Didn't have time to see if I could still change summoners after that. After the game, the client was all kinds of buggy and I didn't bother checking what exactly was going on, I just closed the game. No connection to chat though, and clicking "home" did something, but the score screen still was displayed...
I mainly posted this to make people aware it could be back for real. If I had it more frequently I would have posted it in the @ Riot thread, but I didn't even get to play very many games lately. Anyways:
+ Show Spoiler [specs etc] +I'm usually using the scroll wheel, so I guess I did so this time as well. I possibly used both. Win 7. ~220 ping should be a good guess. While the game loads, I get ~500 easily, no idea why. During games, I typically stay between 200 and 400, with ~220 being the normal value. Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz, 4 GB, GeForce 8800 GT It was in a coop, I picked Xin. But since it's only this one game it's kinda hard to draw any conclusions.

Kennen has to be at near full energy and have all his skills off cd to actually stun properly. It would be more accurate to say that its really hard to gank mid since they can flash back to their turret so easily if you do not have a ranged cc or gap closer skill.
As for the mastery bug thing it might be the scroll wheel thats causing the problem. I don't use the scroll wheel for masteries at all and do a lot of last minute mastery picking. I have never encountered this bug ever.

What is kinda the go-to build for Riven at the moment?
Bought her just now since she seemed fun, played a short custom game to see how the skills controlled and indeed she seemed a lot of fun.
But if anyone has a decent build (masteries/runes/items/skill order) so i atleast have a bit of a guideline, that be great.

She's... I don't know how I feel about her. She kind of strikes me as Garen did for a while: Incredibly fun to play, pubstomper, can do great damage when given the chance, but not as viable against an enemy who knows what they're doing.
She has good damage when she gets to stick on a target and get her full Q and W combo off. The problem is her toughness, I find.
If you build straight glass cannon and it's awful because you get focused and die instantly. Her base damage is really low, too, so if you don't build damage and go tanky like Atmogs or something, she does no damage because she needs to scale with high AD.
She needs something more. More base shield on E, or longer range on it and the ability to pass through walls. And her R-R is annoying because of the cast time and slow movement.
I honestly think she's viable enough to fill a tanky-dps slot, but there are better choices like Lee Sin or Irelia.
