Yes, this seems like very little time before MLG Raleigh that LoL is suddenly/officially announced for MLG. But I'm sure Riot is pushing to have it in this MLG, instead of Orlando. They're comp'ing all the travel expenses no less.
i was about to get super mad :D that mlg would suddenly find money to support lol when they said there was none when sc2 broke into the scene. but if this is a riot funded addition, atleast for the first event them im 100% for mlg expanding to more games

Go Go LoL ESPORTS!!
This.
MLG including a big spectator game like LoL is good for the gaming community. It doesn't matter if you play LoL or HoN. You can't really argue LoL's viewership numbers. If anything, more companies should care more like Riot and push to have their games in ESPORTS.
Let's leave flames about whether LoL "deserves" to be in MLG at the door.

Split among 5 players per team. Also as Neo said Riot has most likely chipped in.

Keep in mind it is bo7 'extended series' so really its just another bo3, with a possible extra game if the disadvantaged team ties it back up.
The biggest thing is will LoL be able to sustain a LAN presence, currently there are only 3-4 teams who are signed to already branded teams like SK or Fnatic from Europe, while most of the North American teams are self started brands much like ROOT Gaming was, they are trying to establish their own brands through their websites which include ton of awesome content for the community.
I can't see European teams sending 5 players overseas to every event, let alone the NA teams. But who knows only time will tell. Maybe riot will keep picking up the tab.

Damn, that's pretty crazy. Glad MLG picked up LoL

It's nice.. But I always was a big Dota fan , and a big percentage if lol and hon players are using these games as something they have to live with till Dota 2 comes out.. Plus lol is the easier version I think..(I don't have enough experience with lol just 100 games) so I think that if dota manages to get as big in the us as it did in eu and asia then lol will have a small run in MLg..

LoL isn't my cup of tea for spectating, but I'll gladly welcome more attention to MLG for having it there. This is an amazing thing for MLG.

Saying LoL doesn't deserve to be at MLG or any other tourney is like saying ice hockey doesn't deserve to be on ESPN. I don't care if there are other sports I may not be interested in. But the growth of sports as a whole is good.

They shoudl probably get some more teams in for the next tournament and spread out the prizes a bit.

sc2 is still better

Wonder how they picked the 'best 4 teams'

why not wait for dota2? making a decision between 3 games when 1 is not out.. i would not do that, but we will see .)
|
I really hope they get good, knowledgeable casters instead of the normal NESL or Riot people.
|
?? The only team that could arguably be on that list would be Rock Solid in replace of Epik Gamer.

GOGO Solo Mid

It was only a matter of time. With LOL's huge fanbase this will surely help MLG, can't say the same about Halo or COD though
Bummed for only 4 teams :/

I don't play LOL at all and I don't even know anything except it is free and it is a MOBA, but I'll check it out during MLG.

With only ~14 days before MLG Raleigh, it's probably easier and cheaper to just invite some NA teams. I'm fairly positive at Orlando, we'll see some EU teams.

CLG, TSM, EG can't really be debated. Crs is eh. Who instead of them though? coL? GoSu? RS?
