Their only real problems have been recently with all the SCII things because bnet 2 was so horribly designed during beta and had like no features to speak of, etc. I remember from original SC people complaining about how useless mutas were and that they needed buffs lol. Wow, I was around 9/10 back then. o_o Remember how BC's were 8 supply even. ^^
But yeah, Riot is really interactive and responsive to the community as a whole. I kind of like that about them. I can tell most of them have good senses of humor but they have to sometimes hide it to not offend many morons who troll the LoL forums.
A big problem with Riot though is that they have so much on their plate it's ridiculous. The game is relatively new. It's not a 10+ year old game like SC or 5 year old game like DotA. And they're trying to do way too much at once because, well, they kind of have to. They need to bring out new champs because of their business model. They need to balance the game because of the addition of new champs and changes in the metagame. And during this they need to find ways to increase server stability, get more/better servers, add features such as replays and observer mode, and also come out with new content such as maps (magma chamber), modes (PvE), or even items (boots of lucidity anyone?) to keep the game new and evolving. It slows everything they want to do down because they're all over the place.
All I ask for is the bare basics and they are just not providing it for eu. A server that doesn't go down every single day (for the last week gathering losses because the game doesn't start up and put you in limbo is about as fun as when the buss is cancled without any notice so you stand there in the freezing rain for 45 before giving up and walking home instead), a hotfix to the bug that makes you able to pick banned heroes and chat system that is actually up once every year. That isn't unreasonble to ask for.

I sincerely doubt you've ever had your eyes gouged out if you honestly think that an online game stalling out on you is in the same league of fun -_-.

it looks remarkably similar to the mac patcher..... :o Do you have any idea how it actually differs in patching? Seems like a bit of bullshit from Riot to me, especially with the timing of its release. I assume that the ability to download previous versions doesn't actually exist yet, and that this new launcher is really more of a new skin that anything else. That all comes without any real evidence, however, as I haven't actually installed it since I'm waiting for the 3rd party replay stuff to update to support it.
On another somewhat related note, I cracked open the 3rd party replay stuff and looked at its source, and its code is quite ugly. During games it simply saves out all the packets the game receives, then sends them back to replay them. Fairly simple, and what I expected. Kinda got me interested in developing my own version though, although I'm far more interested in a project that doesn't duplicate its functionality: streaming. The same method they use to save replays could be used to buffer that data on a server and then redistribute it to any number of clients at once, allowing people to watch players live ingame. Combine that with screen position syncing and perhaps mouse actions and you've got something really interesting, I think.
Of course, I'm pretty certain that with school and work, I don't have the time to finish a project of that scope. Won't stop me from trying, though.

i think i still have the old dmg for mac beta client, if theres sufficient interest i can megaupload it and create a mac lol thread.

re: new patcher; it's supposedly not a shitty version of Internet Explorer anymore, so you can't do Ctrl+L and browse websites rendered crappily lol

To his credit he fixed what *he* said not what Mogwai said, his post doesn't mention eye gouging anymore.

So my post on the lol forums from yesterday got a reply from tryndamere. And its clear he didnt even read the post. Sigh, Riot just doesnt care.

Last I heard, they had like 1 or 2 guys coding the game for Mac's. I never found out an ETA though for a release.

I'm guessing replays are completely overwhelming Riot's thought process at the moment due to the uproar LoLReplay caused. I think it's wrong to say they don't care, the problem in this particular instance is likely more a state of mind/communication issue.

Yeah, this is the impression I got as well. They've been meaning to get it out for a long time, but the idea that some random people with no knowledge of the game's code have made a semi-functional replay system gave them a square kick in the ass to finish it ASAP.

Did anyone else have this bug where you have a Mejais, kill someone, and don't get any stacks (should go from 0 to 2)? No AP either.

I'm not sure if you get stacks if your minions kill enemies. I know that when tibbers deals last hit to golem you don't get the blue (NEITHER TIBBERS)

I was Annie and I killed with Q. Pretty sure that was the killing blow. Also if a minion kills it, shouldn't I at least get an assist?
