"Stolen from dota", how do i love this argument... Lemme guess, SCVs are stolen from Dune because spice harvesters collect resources as well? :|

Go play another game if you dont like it. Noone forces you to play I effing love it I still like the game that does not make Riot immune to criticism, I wouldn't play if I didn't like it but I sure as hell would prefer it if they took some responsibility for what they've made. You don't need to be a fanboy to enjoy the game, but it's getting pathetic. As for tether it's a complete rip off from dota straight off pretty much no changes made to it, I'm not saying that's a bad thing there are alot of stuff from dota I'd like to see in LoL, but it shows just how unimaginative the hero is and much of a "We don't give a fuck" it is.

To give them some credit, the game is pretty well balanced overall for having so many different champions. They did [arguably] make a better DotA clone than HoN in the opinion of many as well.
Look at it this way: When people found out there wouldn't be chatrooms in SC2 they raged. A lot. Blizzard is seen by FAR as a lot more competent of a company than Riot, and is generally seen as a really good game company with high quality games overall. It took them over half a year from their announcement of "will eventually have chatrooms" to actually get them, and they still relatively suck compared to what many wanted to see. Diablo III has been in production for years even, and still is not out.
I'm 100% sure eventually there will be replay systems, observer mode, better servers, etc. Basically we're all going to bitch about it until we get it (I really really hate how my internet can work but the game client screws up often for me and disconnects me randomly...or random lag spikes -.- ), but I'd personally actually prefer to wait for the features to be done and working well than have them release dog crap of a system. I don't want a new system and find out there are a billion things wrong with it and that the features in fact overall suck. LoL is still fairly new. It's not like observer maps came with the original starcraft. *shrug*

But as far as champion development they didnt rip off all of DotA (yet), though I'd love them to ripoff some of the ideas which I really miss.
And dont act like blizzard listens anymore than Riot.

Ehhh. LoL pretty much fails if you try and compare it straight up HoN/Dota, it's best to consider it as quite a different game within the same genre. Saying that, HoN is a dota clone, LoL really isn't.
The thing is that HoN and Dota are much more tailored towards the competitive community, and both have a much larger competitive player base (percentage wise), whereas LoL's competitive community is pretty small, especially when you consider the amount of players LoL has. (Just look at the number of sign ups for the US ESL tourny) So, it's not surprising that Riot aren't paying much attention to the competitive events, as sad as it is.

Took him like 5 months to get that memo about dshield on certain casters, but I guess it got there eventually.
Still a massive prick though, seriously would love moderation features in LoL Chat channels so we can rid him for good.

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewpost.php?post_id=7895557 you're late! Changing topic a little - why is Jax picked sooo rarely? I had no internet access at the time when he stopped being OP #1 champ so i actually don't know what happened to him Is he kited too easily? His jump kinda helps with that i think... Also i thought it is because he has to hit 10 times before loading his ult fully but his burst is good as well.
Also i just checked link that Smash posted, saw that thread and OMG it looks like Smashboard people are tired of Jazriel as well lool

Because no one really cares about dodge zzz

Over the fifteen years or so that I've played PC games, I've had the opportunity to see a lot of game development companies and how they treat their games after release and interact with their players. Riot may be the most responsive that I have seen.

Jax's fatal flaw is that he doesn't have a reliable means of stopping people from running from him. He NEEDS a Rylai, mallet, or gunblade. However, all of these items cost 3k+ gold. This makes Jax horribly expensive to get going. Most any other melee DPS with a built in slow or stun can start snowballing much faster than Jax because they require a less items to be effective. For example, since picking up Irelia, I haven't looked back at Jax. I tried playing him again a few weeks ago and wondered why I put up with him for so long. Other champs are just much better with less items than he is right now.
That said, if you do somehow come up with 10k+ gold to invest into Jax, he becomes an unstoppable rape machine.

My brother has quipped to me multiple times that the LoL forums at the moment are *exactly* like the WoW forums used to be back in the vanilla days, developer interactions, QQing, all of it.
Blizzard is generally good at responding too, though lately they've had more moments where they fall flat on their face (the real names on forums incident, Bnet 2.0/chat rooms)

im just amused by the LoL forums because i feel like it has such a high ratio of idiots to even mildy intelligent people. i mean even moreso than other forums. maybe im just too used to browsing TL. i just dont go check on the LoL forums these days because i just have to ignore half the things said.
*edit i just read smash's post about the competitive scene. and i feel lik there are 10% people who actually think. 60% people who are sheep who read the OP and go yea that sounds awesome(same people who just eat up the shit condor wrote). and 30% people who are LoL fanboys and just say "dont be mean to riot employees!!!"

Not at all again, I'm not against takinig anything from any other game aslong as it makes it better, loan shit all you want don't have a issue with that. It was more to point out how unimaginative and pointless that hero is (since the skill the took was intressting in DotA becasue of how it worked with the ultimate of the hero there).

Yeah Blizzard has always been my favorite PC game company. They always had great customer support imo. Their only real problems have been recently with all the SCII things because bnet 2 was so horribly designed during beta and had like no features to speak of, etc. I remember from original SC people complaining about how useless mutas were and that they needed buffs lol. Wow, I was around 9/10 back then. o_o Remember how BC's were 8 supply even. ^^
But yeah, Riot is really interactive and responsive to the community as a whole. I kind of like that about them. I can tell most of them have good senses of humor but they have to sometimes hide it to not offend many morons who troll the LoL forums.
A big problem with Riot though is that they have so much on their plate it's ridiculous. The game is relatively new. It's not a 10+ year old game like SC or 5 year old game like DotA. And they're trying to do way too much at once because, well, they kind of have to. They need to bring out new champs because of their business model. They need to balance the game because of the addition of new champs and changes in the metagame. And during this they need to find ways to increase server stability, get more/better servers, add features such as replays and observer mode, and also come out with new content such as maps (magma chamber), modes (PvE), or even items (boots of lucidity anyone?) to keep the game new and evolving. It slows everything they want to do down because they're all over the place.

using riots new patcher atm
it looks remarkably similar to the mac patcher..... :o
|
What's the deal with the Mac client anyway? A friend of mine just started playing but he's using bootcamp because we couldn't find any proper info about Mac usage or beta anywhere, even on the LoL forums.
