I was just curious as to how you like it -- I really disliked DotA, and HoN seems to be VERY like DotA but a lot of people say its good.. that said, I really love LoL's art style, customization in terms of runes/masteries/summoners to alter the way a champion can be played, and afaik HoN doesn't have any of that. Either way I don't think there are free trials any more so I'll probably never buy the game, but yeah, I am curious. HoN is made to be a DotA clone and its developers have no talent or skill for game design. The game has been dumbed down a little from the convoluted mechanics and gimmicks that their programmers couldn't replicate but essentially the game was only made to be a DotA wannabe. The community has no respect for itself or for anything that didn't come from DotA. The item system has been dumbed down and stripped of orb walking, one of its fundamental mechanics and the game itself has never been balanced. While this is the kind of mentality that is somewhat shared by the LoL balancing team, there are never more than 22 viable champions in the game, which given the 5 bans per team of competitive play only leaves 12 viable champions to pick in games. That said, HoN feels much easier compared to LoL if you played BW especially before the macro era. It's a single player game and not a team game, VOIP is only there to insult eachother as a homage to the Call of Duty series.
You do know that orb walking is just glorified animation cancelling which HoN has plenty of on heroes like Arachna and Vindicator right? Though most of your other points are rather correct.
Anyway, HoN's engine allows it to be more "thorough" than the WC3 engine, so that you can stack orbs and toggle them instead of having one orb always overwrite another orb. The responsiveness of HoN is a lot quicker in comparison to DotA, and in general, it's faster than LoL [in terms of pure speed, not talking about gameplay flow, though I suppose some could argue it's also faster paced than LoL as well on some occasions].
The direction S2 has taken with HoN with new/changed heroes, new/changed items, and the map changes really puts it in a different "game" from DotA, similar to how Riot has done to distinguish itself from DotA. The problem though is that HoN carries a lot of remnants of DotA which in turns makes HoN seem like a "DotA-lite" or unbalanced version of DotA. The metagame is always behind in comparison to DotA which has turned it to a very stale game at the moment, but S2 can't implement certain items or heroes from DotA to change it.
Overall: for pub games and such, if you can get a free trial or have a friend that'd be willing to let you use his or her account, then I don't see why not to play it if you haven't played DotA or liked DotA.
The game is enjoyable in its own right, I wouldn't say it's any more or less enjoyable compared to LoL, just different.

Did anyone catch the early game of Dyrus jungling Leona? He didn't seem too terribly far behind.
His runes are armor pens, armor, half magic resist, half magic resist/lvl and hp 1/21/8 Wriggles, hog, zerk greeve, triforce
I just need his jungle route.

You can change the game whenever; he was featured for being Tyler, happens to be playing LoL, that's all.

Speaking of which, why would admins go full-retard and try to implement that in the middle of a tournament. It would've been fine at 90 or 120 seconds, but not 30 in a tournament setting. Regardless, you never arbitrarily change rules in the middle of a tournament. It shouldn't even need to be said because it's so obvious. It's hugely bad form to do so, especially without giving notice well ahead of time.

The admins don't play or even know what LoL is. 60 to 90 seconds would have been fair, 30 is retarded. They were trying to get as many matches in a day as possible, Colbycheeze was trying to save his EU viewers by saying that he would have had the VODs on his channel but in general they should have calculated beforehand what games were going to be played and when.
EDIT: THERES GIRLS IN RAINMAN'S ROOM WTF

If your stream is featured, then irregardless of what game you're streaming, you'll still be featured.
It's why Hot_Bid's Portal stream is featured under Misc as well.

Change quality to 720p. Looks much better to me.

So is just me, or is RIOT making more and more completely broken champions in some ways? Think about it for one second and you might get my point.
Jarvan: Has a gap-closer, is extremely strong both in jungle and lane and is very viable with the current meta. Vayne: While not as strong as she was pre-nerf she is still very viable as a ranged carry, being able to stealth and hunt people down,. stunning them into a wall. Nocturne: Paranoia, nuff said Rumble: I'm not so sure about this, cause he got hit by the nerf-bat abit. But still very viable and extremely strong. Orianna: Not played much, but if you come to think about it, she has amazing poking abilities. Lee sin: A fucking beast in the jungle, he can have 4k HP and still do a fuckloads of damage being nearly unkillable. Yorick: He's OP now, and the way he's designed, i doubt there will ever be a balance.
Sure there's a ton of other viable champions out there, but i feel like they're overdoing the champions, because they still have to remain unique and fun to play, while not being totally OP. But bringing in more and more weird stuff, makes it completely broken especially with the current meta.
Am i just wrong here?

Gotta make money, yo. Main problem is champs having too much utility imo.
Nocturne vs Yi Jarv/Irelia/Lee vs Renek/Jax/Nasus

Renek also fell in the category of "new tanky champs with too much utility and damage" until he got slapped around by the nerfbat.

Looking at renek patch notes
he didn't get nerfed too hard. His sustainability from q got nerfed but overall he actually got a damage buff with better ad scaling. que?

V1.0.0.109: Added.
Renekton uses a new resource system called Fury. Renekton gains Fury by attacking or dealing damage with spells. When he has gathered enough Fury, the resource will be expended to empower his skills with bonus effects. Cull the Meek Cull the Meek: Renekton swing his blade, dealing damage to nearby enemies and healing for a portion of the life dealt. Fury Bonus: Heal amount raised dramatically. Ruthless Predator Ruthless Predator: Renekton's next attack swings twice, dealing a portion of his weapon damage, stunning his target briefly and applying on-hits each time. Fury Bonus: Renekton's next attack swings three times, dealing a huge portion of his weapon damage, stunning his target greatly and applying on-hits each time. Slice and Dice Slice and Dice: Renekton dashes forward, dealing physical damage to targets along the way. If he hits a target, he can use Dice for a brief period of time for the same effect. Fury Bonus: Renekton deals 50% increased damage and reduces the armor of units hit. Dominus Dominus (Ultimate): Renekton empowers himself with dark energy, gaining size and bonus health. He deals periodic damage to enemies around him and rapidly gains Fury. Reign of Anger Reign of Anger (Passive): Renekton gains 5 Fury per autoattack. Having sufficient fury empowers Renekton’s abilities with bonus effects, but this drains Fury. Out of combat, Renekton loses 5 Fury per second.
